The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture.
The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture. Compact and yet full of little surprises, Annecy is a charming French city that should be in every traveller’s bucket list. Plenty of excellent dining options, the majestic Alps before you, the Lake and the river around which the place weaves its spell. Late March, early April werent as packed with tourists as summer, so the pace is less harried. Prices, too, both for food and accommodation are very affordable. Three restaurants we tried : Cozna, Saba and Le Bouillon, all Michellin recommended - provided excellent food and service.

Beautiful old city.
Beautiful old city. Gorgeous views of a pristine, clear lake. Old town area was lovely and the Sunday market seemed really authentic. Have a trip on the boat to admire the substantial houses dotted along the shoreline, enjoy an ice cream and take lots of pics. There is a good bus service if you want to go further afield. We visited Talloires Montmin on the other side of the lake by car but I noticed it is on a bus route too.

Not too much to do in the rainy weather. Drinks are very expensive. Great market in the old town 3 times per week. Lots of quirky little side streets and beautiful buildings within the city. A beautiful town with lake and waterways. Historic buildings and narrow streets within the centre giving a really good feel. Unfortunately it rained a lot the week we we there but didn't spoil our enjoyment too much. Lots of lovely shops and cafes and friendly and helpful people. Annecy has a railway station and bus station with a good service and clean reliable transport.

Staff were friendly and everything was very clean. The price for what you get is also exceptional compared to many other places in the area and around France. The hotel had a delicious breakfast and had a nice aesthetic. The staff were all extremely helpful, especially Thierry. He went above and beyond to help us make our stay comfortable. He even rescued us when we realized we had left a valuable item back in the room and helped us arrange to get it back.
