I visited this city second time because of trip to Artouste.
I visited this city second time because of trip to Artouste. You have to stay in Pau. I was travelling by train. It is very pity that there is no coordination between train and bus connection. I mean public transport. Especially if you want to travel to Artouste from Bayonne par example. It is not possible to combine the different transport and to change plans of the trip because of weather.

Pau is a charming small city near the Pyrenees.
Pau is a charming small city near the Pyrenees. It's a 90 minute drive to the Atlantic Ocean. There is a lovely chateau and an art museum in the heart of the old city. Architecture is similar to the turn of the century Paris. Les Halles is a covered permanent market place where vendors sell their food items 6 days a week. The way the produce, fish, cheeses etc are displayed is worth seeing, Lots of restaurants. I don't think of it as a destination location, but a great place to visit for a couple of days.

Pau is a small and very engaging city.
Pau is a small and very engaging city. Great views of the Pyrenees all around. Museum de Beaux Arts (free) is especially worth a visit.
Good food shops, restaurants and bars all around
Everything is within easy walking distance, with small funicular railway joining the upper and lower halves of the city.
Clean, modern, comfortable. A very enjoyable stay.
We had a spacious room on 2nd floor. Bed generously sized/comfortable. Shower excellent. Very nice to have a coffee machine in room.
Also liked the choices of comfortable foyer and landing seating areas.
Gated parking and electric car charging points available.
On site restaurant w a discount for residents helps the fact that the hotel is situated away from other restaurant choices and a drive from the town centre.
Handy for road travel links
Very convenient location in the center, close to everything, the building dates back to 1910, so don’t expect modern furnishings, but the room was surprisingly spacey and everything was clean and comfy. The receptionist - Sonia - was very helpful, friendly and professional. Breakfast was nice with a very pleasant staff. All in all, I had a very nice one-night stay, and if I ever find myself in Pau in the future, I will stay in BW again.
Awesome location in center of walkable downtown Pau.
Staff are all friendly and courteous.. They tolerate our inability to pronounce French with good humor.
Nice variety of breakfast choices including fruit, yogurt, cheeses, hams, bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs, bread and pastries...juice, milk, tea, coffee. (bacon could have been crisper, but that was more that offset by amazing 😆 cal chevre)
Villa Dampiere is a lovely colonial-style house close to the centre of Pau. The owners do everything to make you welcome and provide an excellent breakfast with croissants, home-made jams etc. The rooms are large and comfortable - ours was air conditioned, which was nice as the weather was hot. The shower was nice and warm with a good flow rate (important - I've suffered under many a weak shower).
Staffs working there are really nice and helpful. Hotel building is quite old but room is renovated. Location is a bit away from the center with about 40mins walk but there's bus right in front of the hotel. There are supermarkets, pharmacy and bakery near by. Room is a bit small but it's very clean and comfortable with a kettle and coffee/tea.
Hotel was easy to find on the main road into Pau, staff very friends, room was nicer than expected, very clean. We got there late but there was no problem & we were able to eat & have a drink in the restaurant/bar at the front of the hotel. Food was excellent & vino very good too. Plenty of parking space.
A one night stopover driving from Northern France to South East Spain. Good size room..Wet room compact pod for shower etc. TV. Central location in Pau with restaurants ,petrol stations within a few metres! Just 10 mins in moderate traffic to historic centre of Pau. Fantastic value.
Perfectly positioned hotel, with a gorgeous lobby and front of house areas. It is right in the centre of Pau with plenty of places to eat drink and shop around. The staff were welcoming and made you feel at home. My room was large with big windows and comfortably furnished.
We have stayed at the Quality Hotel Pau on two previous occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and efficient, breakfast facilities are very good, catered by a charming woman. Parking is secure and free. Accommodation is of a good standard.
I traveled from Sweden to Spain during a period of 7 days, this was the best hotel out of all. the man at the reception (don't have his name) was so helpful and kind. Pau is also such a beautiful city so if/when I come back, i know where Im staying.
The flat was lovely. Easy parking and a short drive into the centre of Pau. It takes around 25 minutes to walk. The welcome basket of fruit was much appreciated. We enjoyed staying here and would heartily recommend it. Yannick was very helpful.
Hotel is ideally placed for the university and on a good bus route to the centre of the city. Hotel was quiet, beds were very comfy, staff friendly. Huge Leclerc supermarket very close to hotel. Parking outside hotel.
Good hotel with, for us at least, a spacious room. Free private parking on a spacious spot included. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location, a short walk from the centre.
