Dieppe is a town steeped in Medieval history and Gothic buildings. Cathedrals and churches which are beautiful. Dieppe is very expensive for food and drink especially. French people seem very polite and friendly and greet you with a smile... The food in various places was a bit disappointing for French Quisine. They do not cater for vegetarian diners very well... I am an English trained certified classic Chef who was taught to cook in the style of French Quisine and as such was often a little shocked that pomme fries were served up with almost at every meal and a lack of vegetables to accompany the order. No Dauphinoise potatoes or other potatoe dishes offered on menus. Shocked at chips everywhere. I myself am a former professional Classic trained French style Chef Surprised at the limited choice of Menu at the Cafe Les Tribuneux. One of the most famous restaurants in Dieppe.. Overall a friendly hustly bustly little town oozing with plenty of charm good atmosphere & hospitality. I would still recommend Dieppe as a nice place to visit for travellers. There is a great Fruit and Vegetable market on Saturdays also farmers selling fresh cheeses and other produce. The market also sells clothes and leather goods, bags & purses. Etc...

Dieppe is an unsung holiday destination.

Dieppe is an unsung holiday destination. The expansive Saturday morning market is worth going for alone! It has a plethora of good restaurants and bars (take a bow "Au Bout La Bas"), a beautiful and very big beach, a fascinating history, and a brilliant swimming complex next to the beach. It also makes a great base for exploring the surrounding areas and towns such as Rouen and Etretat.

Wonderful town with old buildings, a busy harbour and a fabulous Saturday food market. Excellent food everywhere especially if you're a fish/seafood lover, spoilt for choice. Beach is clean and pebbly with lots of snack shacks for crepes/waffles and more.

Dieppe is beautiful with harbour walks and beach walks in horizontal streets. The castle is stunning at night and the harbour lights are incredible. There are lots of cafes and restaurants along the harbour. We went to one and they were unfriendly…. Quay 11. Food was ok but kind of hostile service. Most folks were pleasant. In the street leading from the harbour there is a lovely restaurant Les Tribunaur,, with friendly staff and easy relaxed eating and drinking. But lots of choices so shop around. There is a tourist train which is a 45 minute ride all around the city and up to the castle. At 8 euros it’s a great buy. Boat trips along the coast daily too.

It is the first time that we visited Dieppe and we loved it.

It is the first time that we visited Dieppe and we loved it. The old town, the atmosphere of an old port town by the sea, the sea itself, the cliffs, the delicious seafood :))) It is wonderful to take walks around the old town, by the sea or to nearby villages. We enjoyed the 45-minute promenade en mer on the boat. The sea museum near port Musée Estran Cité de la Mer is very interesting and worth visiting. We also took long walks to nearby villages Puys, Purville sur Mer and Varengeville sur Mer and they're all great in their own unique way with beautiful views and interesting places to visit. There are fish markets where you can buy fresh fish and seafood. We especially liked shopping in Ho Fruits de la Mer where the prices are a lot lower and everything is fresh and delicious. Our kids of 9 and 11 years old enjoyed the visit a lot, too. The weather in Normandy is often rainy and windy but not a problem. You should just be aware of it and have the right clothes and shoes and an umbrella.

The hotel was well situated for both seeing Dieppe and taking the train to Rouen for the day. The room was small but the window opened, the bed was comfortable and everything worked in the bathroom. The breakfast was excellent with a decent choice of sweet and savoury and the drink machine produced very good coffee. The wifi in the room worked well for our purposes (reading emails etc) as did the TV. We were able to leave our luggage until the afternoon when our ferry home was scheduled.

We enjoyed the location of the property. It was by the port and by the seafront. We had a balcony that overlooked the bar and restaurant and the boats coming in and out. We could park our car by the hotel and at our leisure drive around Dieppe and beyond. We took in a lot of views and attractions. I also enjoyed using the spa pool which was available to guests, there was also a sauna and steam room.

We had a great single night stay at the Mercure Dieppe. Our room was great, with a sofa round the corner and the most comfy bed I had slept in during our week in France. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast is served in a room on the top floor of the hotel, which has an amazing view of the seafront and Chateau. Location is fab - really close to all the good stuff Dieppe has to offer

We stayed four nights in hotel Windsor. The staff are very welcoming, obliging and friendly. The location is superb on the sea front. We had a spacious town view room and everything was spotlessly clean. We chose a town view as we know the seagulls can be quite noisy but if you are an early riser then that won’t be a problem. Probably worth it for the view. Looking forward to our next visit.

Really lovely cottage-like room with a charming interior. Colin and his friend were very kind and welcoming from the contact day-1 till the moment we left. The location is very convenient and the detailed town information provided by the owner also helps to get around and enjoy the area. Wish we could stay longer. Highly recommended for a holiday in Dieppe.

This was our second visit. The staff are so welcoming, it's like coming home. It was my partner's birthday, so I had organised champagne for our room. The champagne was ready and waiting, they had also upgraded us to a room with a sea view free of charge. Thank Hotel Aguado for making our stay so special.

Location excellent. A half hour walk from the ferry terminal. The rooms are clean and efficient, there are no 'frills'. The staff are friendly and efficient. The hotel is situated 10 minutes walk from the train station, and is handily placed for central town. I would stay in this hotel again.

We arrived late in Dieppe with a long journey ahead of us. The Brit hotel had good reviews, it was close to our arrival port, just off the side of the road. Reception staff were great, room was superb, warm, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It has the best pillows I've ever experienced.

The manager Gabriel was generous in his welcome after I struggled to get a taxi from the ferry port. in the morning I needed a taxi to the station and when none was available he drove me there himself. Outstanding hospitality. But Dieppe needs to get a grip on its lack of taxis.

Pleasant hotel. Clean and quiet. Receptionist let me leave my bike in the secure garage for the day, despite my having checked out that morning, as I was catching a night ferry and didn't want the hassle of wheeling a loaded touring bike around Dieppe.
