Perfect town to base yourself for cycling many bucket list...
Perfect town to base yourself for cycling many bucket list climbs though a car is handy to drive to Aple d'Huez and Bessens for other climbs. Still don't get why France shuts down from 12.30 on a Sunday as there are so many good restaurants but not opened when really needed. We really rate the local Indochina restaurant - food superb and cheap.

A small working town with limited tourism influence. There is a lot of industry in this area, but this is overshadowed by the beauty of the natural surroundings, so much so you can almost forget it is there. The surrounding areas are a haven for cycling enthusiasts with many many iconic climbs to test your stamina.

We had a secure place to keep our bicycles, the apartment was very clean and very well appointed. We were able to cook and were able to wash and dry our clothes. Although not in a picturesque area of the town, it was very quiet and we enjoyed the open space around the apartment. it was easy for us to walk to the town and to the supermarket and bike shop.

And together with the staff a solution was found so we could still sleep in the hotel. They were thoughtful and really nice. The room was also very clean. And the beds were comfy. The only downside is that the pillows are a bit firm. I enjoyed my stay even though it was just fot one night. The parking area disclosed from the road is also really nice.SamNetherlands

The Saint-George Hotel is a well kept and well run hotel with a happy hard working vibe even when its busy and, when I was there, very hot.
