The property is absolutely charming. The owners could not be more gracious. Breakfast was made to order, accompanied by fresh croissants and bread. My room (the pink room) was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The property is well maintained and also very close to the Normandy American Cemetery, where I was visiting. Wish I could have stayed more than 1 night.

This pretty roadside inn, Le Clos Tassin offers the ambiance of a country villa; the owners and fellow guests providing a hospitable retreat from the otherwise emotionally intense experience of standing where such history took place. The calm normalcy of several days living in this province, the quiet of a room above a small garden, the complete petit jejeuner with madam Prune's eggs and bacon and an evening glass of their own limited production Calvados served to remind one why that liberation was overwhelmingly important...and why one had come there to remember it.
