Great place to stay near Troyes. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is great. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. We liked walking around the sprawling estate around the chateau. The location is convenient as well, near Troyes and Lac d'Auzon.

What a nice place to stay. The Château sits in the middle of a walled-in area the size of a city park. The park is illuminated during night time, inviting you for a stroll. There's also a heated outside pool, a lovely terrace and a little barbecue area. Unfortunately the weather didn't grant us an opportunity to use those, but they are certainly an added bonus in hot weather. We were also impressed by the rooms, with their brightness, high ceilings, spotless cleanliness and last but not their generously spaced bathrooms. Breakfast included all we possibly could desire, from free range eggs (local to the Château), ham, cheese, jam, yogurts, you name it, not forgetting home-made cakes, nice coffee and the french imperative, croissants. We truly had a wonderful stay, and we'd like to thank Vanessa and David for their warm welcome and hospitality. We're certainly coming back. For sure!

Set in a renovated property originally built in 1862, Château de Montabert is an elegantly-decorated guest house surrounded by a 14-hectare park. Guest can relax by the pool, admire the hen house or the pigeon house, rent a bike and walk by the pound. Central Troyes is just a 20-minutes drive away.
