Perfect place to explore Provence, it's right in the middle.
Perfect place to explore Provence, it's right in the middle. In the town you will find the basics: supermarket, some restaurants, others. The old towncenter is nice, and late afternoon (not on marketday) we found good parking facilities.
Tip: google maps doesn't know that some streets in the old town are closed and it navigates inside impossible places. It's better to park next to the river and walk 3 minutes to the center.

The town of Apt serves as a great base for exploring Provence. We planned a long stay to really cover the area and the smaller towns we wanted to visit was an easy drive from here. There is free public parking in the main town center although overall I would consider Apt a quieter town with little to do at night. We usually ate at another village or had dinner in the flat. There were many shops around. Summer 2022 was exceptionally hot so returning midday to the flat to cool off then venture out again in the early evening worked well. Not recommended though without a car but with a car, the many smaller roads linking the villages made for some spectacular lavender photos (the best fields were random drive by lucky moments!)

Even if the area seems less wealthy than other areas in the Vaucluse or Luberon, it breaths authenticity, a real city that is lively the whole year round; real efforts are made to 'upgrade' the city and attract more holiday makers and travelers; 5 minutes driving or cycling in any direction and and most astonishing scenery is revealed to you.
Ideal as a hub for discovering the Luberon, by car or bicycle.

Apt felt like an authentic small French town.
Apt felt like an authentic small French town. It did not feel overly touristic. We had great meals everywhere we ate. I even had to see a doctor at the last minute. I was able to get a recommendation, see a doctor, get a prescription, and have it filled all in less than 1 hour. The total cost was
$35 dollars. Amazing!

Apt has a lovely old town with interesting shops and restaurants. We have always driven through Apt and had always dismissed it. This time we stayed in town and were very pleasantly surprised. Good base for touring.
L'Auberge Espagnole is perfect place to relax and enjoy the trip of Apt & surrounding of Luberon. Location is in the perfect to reach out to all tourist attractions in Apt and its closer to restaurants. Breakfast served in the morning on terrace and its perfect to start the day with great view of surroundings of Apt and town. Hosts are very friendly and kind and welcome their guest personally. We recommend stay in L'Auberge Espagnole and will like to visit them again in future.
We got a big apartment on the ground level, with the largest shower i have ever seen, and jazz music at the push of a button.. A big bedroom and a small, well equiped kitchen.
10 meters from the pool and breakfast hall. Lots of free parking right outside the door. The center of Apt was not very exiting, but it was a enormous, fantastic market, that filled half of the old town on saturday.
the location near the city centre of Apt is fantastic. Rive Droite has a tapas bar that is open Tuesday night through Saturday night, and the items available on the menu are great… some of the rotating tapas items are almost “otherworldly,” they are just incredible. the chef, Alyzée is gifted. the hotel manager Jérôme is warm, friendly, with an unmatched sense of humour.
We had great communication with the host and found checking in really easy. There is lots of on street parking nearby, which was very helpful.
The apartment had lovely views on the main square and we enjoyed people watching from the living room windows. It was much bigger than I expected, which was a nice surprise, and all the beds were very comfortable.
Good communication from the owner re: directions and parking.
He helped us with the luggage up to the second floor which was much appreciated!
The accommodation was huge; sitting area, bedroom, bathroom and separate WC.
The little pool was very welcome in the extreme heat, as was the fridge in the room.
Breakfast was nice.
When we arrived, the air conditioning was not working in our room and there were a few other minor issues. The hotel manager worked with us the next morning to find a solution (changed rooms in this case as they couldn't get a technician in). The staff was so lovely and really worked hard to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
Well-equipped kitchen in our room, lovely view of the church and old city square, free parking off-site, good French breakfast. Liked having the the comfy chairs and table in the bedroom area, plus the small kitchen table in our kitchen.
Everything
Great location - walk out the door into the centre of town and straight into the Saturday market.
Easy parking by the river.
Beautiful apartment with a wonderful balcony overlooking the roofs of the town.
Well decorated
Great view , nice and clean appartment , well equipped with everything that you could need , in the kitchen for example .
Free coffee and a very friendly host. The type of place where you want to come back
New , very clean , nice facility . Room had a terrace opening onto an inner courtyard. Good bakery and bar located a couple of blocks away . Short walk into town along a cycle path next to the hotel .
Great basis for exploring the Provence - an old, totally renovated farmhouse close to Apt. Very nice host, very comfortable room, really great breakfast. We would love to return to this place.
Value for money room in great location on edge of Apt old town near old train station. Room was clean and although facilities were basic they were adequate.
The location was excellent. Three parking spaces for the hotel in front and we were able to secure one. The Saturday market was right outside the hotel!
