The location among the vineyards is magic! We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool and the space around where one can relax in the silence while admiring the landscape around. The room was spacious and clean and the whole structure is furnished with style with some interesting pieces of design, most of them Italian.

Location very quiet, between vineyards, ideal for long walks or just swimming in big pool and resting in comfort. Host couldn't be nicer and more helpful made us feeling like at home. Easy, very safe parking place just steps away from the room. Easy passage to the room, no stairs, room at ground level. Very interesting interior design. Room very big, clean modern bathroom and incredibly comfortable bed, we loved especially pillows, real luxury to sleep in there. Real paradise hidden in famous vineyards, bottles of good local wines waiting in the room :)

The house is an old farmhouse/ winery built with stone from the local quarry in the 1850s. I have spent the last year trying to make it into a place for other travelers to enjoy. Relax with a book in the sun, or with a glass of quality Bordeaux wine. Stay active; swim, play volleyball or badminton, or go for a stroll amongst the vines. Enjoy a French breakfast in the dining room or in the garden. Sign up for an introductory course in wine tasting.
I am a Norwegian sommelier, and I have a masters degree in tourism and hospitality. I love to travel and have visited more than 80 countries around the world. For many years I dreamt of running a small B&B in France. In November 2016 I sold my appartment in Norway to persue my dream. I know from both professional and private experience what is needed to have an enjoyable holiday. I will do my very best to make your stay at Chez Henri a memorable one.
Bordeaux is the largest and most significant wine district in France. It is the leading AOC vineyard of France, attributed to its great diversity of high-quality terriors. There are approx 10.000 wineproducers producing 800 mill bottles of wine annually. Vineyard tours are one of the main tourist attractions, as wel as tasting and buying wine. We have experienced partners who will help you arrange your visits to some of the best producers in the area. Boredeaux is divided into two parts, The West Bank were you´ll find Margaux, Medoc, Graves and Sauterne, and The East Bank where you´ll find Pomerol and Saint Emilion. Chez Henri B&B is situated 10 min from Saint Emilion. The best way to explore the area is by car. You can drive yourself or we can arrange for a driver to take you to your winetastings. We can also arrange for a helicopter ride or a hot air balloon ride over the vineyards. The train station in Castillon is 4 km from Chez Henri B&B. A 10 min train ride will take you from Castillon to Saint Emilion, or to Bordeaux, Gare St Jean, in 50 min. St Emilionnais Golf Club is only 4 km from Chez Henri B&B. It is open for non-members.
