In the 1700’s, the Ursuline Nuns opened a convent in Pézenas as a school for local French girls. The convent weathered two World Wars as a hospital for French soldiers run by the nuns, and was later inhabited by an illustrious French family. In the early 2000s the Couvent des Ursulines was renovated with meticulous care, and now stands as a testament to the past while offering the modern amenities for a rejuvenating vacation in the south of France. Couvent des Ursulines now offers five separate apartments. These can be rented individually for a serene and rejuvenating escape for your family, or together to offer accommodation for up to 32 guests for a family reunion or business meeting. The current owners are a group of 5 families that have embraced the serene atmosphere and historic significance of the Couvent and the unique character of the medieval town of Pézenas with its charming architecture, cultural heritage and vibrant atmosphere. Recently a private garden has been added to each apartment, so that guests have the option to enjoy their private space or relax in the large garden of the Couvent. In the near future we are planning to enlarge the pool deck, improve the amenities in the apartments and continue to improve the gardens.
