The Domaine de Pradaous is a XVII th Century Stage coach, know under the name "la Garde de Dieu". It is located on the historic romain road (via Domitia) connecting then Italie to Spain. One of its most celebrated visitors has been the french writer Stendhal who talks about stopping by in his journal, "Oeuvre Intimes", in 1806. The large vaulted ceiling and stone restaurant room was originally the horse stables, and the large barn close to the main building was a space to park and fix the carriages. There is also a dove loft visible from the facade. Featuring a classic provencal architecture, the building is atypical in its lay out. Since it was conceived from the beginning for a "commercial" use, it offers large simple volumes instead of the small multiple rooms you can find in buildings of this era in Provence. The property with its 3 ha at the foothill of the village of Reillanne en Luberon, offers an exceptional location, shaded by 200 year old trees and featuring a natural spring and a small stream on its edge. The Domaine de Pradaous is located on the road between Forcalquier and Apt, only 15mns from the city of Manosque as well.

I met my wife, Sheila, when visiting my family in the area in 2013. After 30 yrs living in California I decided to move back to France in 2014 and purchased the property. With my wife Sheila, who is a chef, we started by opening the restaurant in July 2014, and now we have renovated a large part of the property to open our B&B.

The Domaine de Pradaous is located in the heart of the Luberon National Park. The Domaine features a restaurant, a swimming Pool, an helipad. We propose sightseeing helicopter tours from the property as well as electric bikes rental. Also close by, hot air balloons flights, horse back riding, tennis and 18 holes golf... Beautiful villages, local food markets and museums makes for a great visit in one of the most beautiful area of France.
