The hosts were wonderfully welcoming, the view to the cathedral would be hard to match, the breakfast is excellent, and the accommodations are quiet and completely private, in lovely grounds. Though it's across the river from the heart of town, it's an easy walk and tremendously scenic (we managed to do it at sunset). “You are self contained in a very large private garden with a wonderful view across the river to the cathedral. Marie Helene and Bernard are wonderful hosts and have thought about just everything you need. Fresh bread and fruit is left on the kitchen window each morning to add to other breakfast foods in the fridge and you can eat outside in the garden weather permitting. A decent walk into the town centre but we were fine with that as it was good exercise - you certainly can leave the car parked during your stay. “The location is fantastic in the middle of a very large garden and overlooking the river with the Albi Cathedral rising beyond. At night, the view is breathtaking. Also, the area is easy to drive to and park in (we parked right out front). We walked across the old bridge into Albi in just 15 minutes to see the cathedral and the wonderful Toulouse Lautrec Museum. In the evening, we ate at a restaurant just a block away; it was lovely with excellent service and food. The breakfast served the next morning in the room (a little two-story house actually) was perfect. Also, the hosts were very kind and accommodating.
