The location of the apartment was amazing, the size of the apartment and quality of the furnishings were fantastic, and the hosts were incredibly communicative and responsive. We very much appreciated being able to check in early, and their help with arranging a taxi was great. The welcome bottle of sparkling wine and bag of locally made cookies were very nice touches. The washing machine was very handy. The apartment is a great value for all these reasons and more, and we would stay in the apartment again in a heartbeat.

Located in a historical monument in the center of Amboise, La maison du philosophe has three accommodations: - an apartment with a castle view, ideal for 2 to 4 people. It has a bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a free private parking, a garden, a WiFi connection and a smart TV. On the 2nd floor, it has a view of the royal castle. You will have at your disposal a queen size bed, a separate toilet, a sofa bed, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a dryer, a heater and fans. - The garden view apartment, ideal for 2 to 4 people, has one bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, free private parking, a garden, WiFi connection, 2 smart TVs. You will have at your disposal a queen size bed, a separate toilet, a sofa bed, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a dryer, a heater and fans - The studio has a sofa bed, TV, kitchen, desk area and fans.
We opened this apartment in January 2020 because we have long wanted to make people discover our region: its castles, gardens, vineyards and gastronomy. We like to travel but we don't like to be taken for consumer tourists. So we will be able to advise you local actors who work on a human scale and for a good value for money or give you a lot of information. We like to share.
In addition to the castles of Amboise, Clos-Lucé, Chenonceaux, Chaumont-sur-Loire or Blois. We recommend the international garden festival of Chaumont-sur-Loire (April to October), a visit of the vineyards and wine tasting, a hot air balloon ride over the castles. We will be able to put you in touch with quality service providers. We also have a partnership with a massage and well-being salon. We will be able to indicate you the restaurants appreciated by the amboisiens according to your budget.
