An interesting castle with a museum that we didn’t have the...
An interesting castle with a museum that we didn’t have the time to visit. There’s also connections with Joan of Arc in the town. A lovely town but it looks as though it has suffered in the recent economic downturn. They really need some more tourists to help the businesses pick up. It’s well worth it though. Would be great for cyclists too as the voie vert that goes along the Berry Canal goes past the hotel.

A warm welcome and attentive service from the young proprietor, who seemed run the place almost single handed! Pleasant room with very comfortable large bed. Plentiful breakfast. Lovely walks around the town, in the nearby water gardens and along the canal.

Mehun sur Yevre is also a lovely little town with a long history. The landlord couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and the hotel has a courtyard for secure parking. I was able to park my motorcycle in their garage overnight too. I would definitely stay here again, perhaps longer next time to explore the area, rather than just transiting through.
