The working mill is a fantastic peaceful location and Catherine and Cyprien were great hosts making us feel very welcome. If you are looking for a lovely 'getaway from it all' kind of stay then this is for you! Local cycling is easy and off road letting you explore the Cognac region easily. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Relaxed therapeutic bliss perfect to unwind, Wishing I stayed longer than one night to explore on foot. Host very friendly and welcoming, I would revisit. Pet dog was also very welcome by resident family and dogs. Breakfast included and was quite nicely convenient to our needs. This was a real treasure find, absolutely amazed how beautiful it was to see, I have seen nothing like this before.

Le Moulin is safe, friendly, relaxed and comfortable in a quiet tranquil village of Bassac. It is a working mill, the owner supplies flour to a number of bakeries locally. You can sample the end product at breakfast with a feast of croissant, pan au Chocolat, brioche and bread. Accompanied by home-made jams and preserves. Worth a stopover while exploring the picturesque village.

the breakfast included homemade bread, croissant, pain au chocolate and cookies made with the flour from the moulin - all delicious and served with excellent butter with salt crystals and freshly made fig confiture. Great bedroom and comfy bed overlooking the bridge and river. Although a little difficult to find (its down a narrow cul-de-sac with the Moulin and few houses), it was a beautiful peaceful spot the only noise being the reassuring sound of the water passing through the mill wheel under the house. The private bathroom was a short walk down the corridor and was spacious and well lit. The host Catherine was helpful, friendly and accommodating and provided some of her bread and a splendid brioche (from her shop across the road) at a reasonable cost. its a short walk to the excellent Michelin starred L'Essille hotel/restaurant - a treat to stay in one and eat well in the other
