Brides is a lovely small town ideal for those who want to enjoy the ski area of the Three Valleys but who want a more relaxed, low key environment for the evenings. There is a lovely park alongside the river to enjoy an evening stroll. There are a few bars and restaurants but you don't come here for night time entertainment.

It is really unfortunate that the mayor's idea to boost the town as a location for skiers is to put on over-loud and poor quality bands in the town square. This absolutely ruins the experience. Suppose you are tired after a day of skiing and want to settle down to dinner in comfort? How will you feel if all you can hear is amplified drum beats?

Brides-les-Bains is a cheaper and convenient way of skiing the Meribel / 3 Valleys ski area.
The area is quiet but with plenty going on, and lots of lovely restaurants. The gondola is centrally located, there is an Intersport hire shop attached to the gondola but I found this pricier than the central location (2 minutes down the road). You can however, hire lockers from the Intersport located at the gondola station which was really useful, but worth noting that the locker has a space available for individual sets of skis so will need one per person.
Brides-les-Bains is full of lovely restaurants, however it is vital to book. On our first evening we were wondering around for a while trying to locate somewhere to eat. It appears that they have several 'sittings' for dinner and will often put up a sign to say they are full. We then made bookings for the rest of our stay to avoid this issue.

We love Brides Les Bains as it is not wholly a ski resort - it has a character that is more about the valley location and community than the skiing with interesting buildings, a park, a river and valley scenery. It's a fairly quiet village, although it's livelier in school holidays, when there is usually some kind of entertainment on at the end of the day.
Eating out is varied, although there aren't a huge number of venues.
The village offers free parking in a variety of locations.
It is very easily accessed, and we have never been affected by the weather conditions for getting there or getting away.
Accommodation, both catered and un-catered, is plentiful and reasonably priced.
Plenty to do for non-skiers with well sign posted walks and interesting towns nearby.

French town situated in the valley just below Meribel.
French town situated in the valley just below Meribel. It's connected to the three valleys ski area by a 25 minute gondola ride. As it opens 1/2 hour earlier you actually don't miss any skiing.
Everything seems much cheaper than up in the mountains, and for a cheaper option with access to fantastic skiing it's worth considering as an alternative.

Brides great satellite of the 3 valleys.
Brides great satellite of the 3 valleys. Nice bars and restaurants. No too many drunken idiots. Plenty of character. Lift takes about 25 mins to get to Meribel centre. Hence the good value for money. (DO NOT MISS the last lift alternatives aren't good. )Easy to drive to , Bus from the station in Moutiers - 10 mins or so.

Great location next to the Olympe gondola and easy to get to from the train station. The family that runs the hotel is incredibly welcoming and attentive. The included breakfast was very convenient and the dinners that we had there were delicious. We also received a discount on our ski gear rentals by staying at the hotel, which was a great bonus that we did not know before our arrival.
The hotel position is the best in Brides les bains. Panoramic view on the village and mountains.
Nice design inside and outside of the hotel, especially of the restaurant.
Different dinner menu every evening was interesting and delicious.
The personals at the hotel and in the restaurant were attentive, kind and very professional!
A quality hotel with some parking and just a few minutes walk to the telecabine connecting to Méribel.
The room was quiet and comfortable- until 6.50am when the neighbour's doors start to bang.
The sauna was a good way to relax after skiing.
The main receptionist was friendly and well organised.
Food at dinner was great. Spa was a nice touch, but often was out of clean towels so we had to bring from upstairs. Also, only open 3 hours a day (5-8pm) which is a bit odd, considering most restaurants close at 9 so we had to choose between spa and eating at a reasonable time.
Very pleasant, well equipped, and easy studio in the middle of Brides-les-Bains. Well situated for the baths, the boulangerie, the mini market and restaurants etc. Very helpful communications from the hosts and clear instructions on how to check in and out.
The property is conveniently located at the base of the Olympe gondolas which take you to Méribel Centre in less than 30min. The hotel has complimentary parking for its guests in the back as well as ski lockers. make sure to request one upon arrival.
The hotel provides an extremely convenient stay for those looking to enjoy a ski trip without much fuss or luxury. Location is very good and considering the cleanliness of the hotel, it's an extremely good value for the money.
Very nice old hotel with a specific cozy atmosphere, very nice people who always helped when needed, comfortable beds, good cleaning, excelent breakfest, quiet area around, very close to Olympe lift. Will come again!
Good connection to Olymp gondola(with free ski shuttle bus), bathroom renovated and nice, decently equipped kitchen, spacious compared to other similar places in les 3vallées, towels and sheets provided
we used this hotel as a stopover on the way to Meribel - we arrived late and left early it was perfectly fine but very basic - the staff were friendly it was easy to find and the parking was free.
Great location in a lovely village. Big upstairs living space and balcony (very sunny). All amenities on doorstep. Friendly host and the local bars and restaurants were good.
It was a typical French hotel in the town centre, with a large, clean bed and bath room. The staff were lovely and the food really nice. I would definitely go again.
The hotel was in a great location. All the staff (with the exception of one) were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was adequate but not a lot of choice.
Paid quite a bit extra for twin bedroom via booking .com-- the staff at the hotel maintained i had booked a double -- then charged an extra hundred pounds.
