Nathalie: After having been trained as a teacher and for years having been active as a primary school teacher and later on as a Dutch teacher and coordinator in secondary education for first formers at the age of 12 and 13, I quit my job in 1998. I sold my house and rode by motorcycle from Holland to Australia for a year. From young age on I have always liked to cook for family and friends. It all started with a cooking book from my Indonesian grandmother. Inspired by travelling, I now cook dishes from any random country. Taking care of a good meal together with a good glass of wine is my great passion. In 2002 I emigrated to Belgium and started my own catering and cooking workshop business: "Smaak & Vermaak" ( "Taste & Entertainment"). In 2008 I became a happy single. In 2012 I started a very happy second life with PeterJan and in 2014 we moved to "the Vogezen" where we now own a Bed & Breakfast! All meals are carefully prepared with fresh products. All the flavors and dishes that we have encountered during our travels are reflected in our meals. In & around our B&B: - Several pathways, cycling and mountain biking routes. - Massage: our neighbor is a professional Ayurveda therapist and will do massages in his own studio or in our home. - Rock climbing: in our “backyard” there is a 12 meter high cliff with several multi-pitch climbing routes. - Several sitting areas in our garden near our pond allow you to leisurely rest in the shadow or in the sun - Chamois hike: once a week our neighbors of “Casa Boslimpré” organize a hike to see the chamois up in the Hohneck. Departure before sunrise. - Several destinations on pathways with snowshoes. - Cross-country skiing. Within 20mn by car - The Xonrupt and Gérardmer lakes for all kinds of watersports such as swimming, windsurfing, sailing but also small beaches for leisure, picnic areas and snacks. - Hiking area around the Glacière. The pathway goes beyond an old hydropower sawmill where guided tours are offered. - Exterior karting racetrack and quad rental.
