Peaceful quiet countryside setting with all amenities a short drive away. The Gite was clean and tastefully decorated with all facilities available. The hosts were welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. We would certainly return and highly recommend this property.

La Loge has two rental properties on-site: ***** Wisteria Cottage is open plan studio that is ideal for a couple. It contains a kitchenette, lounge, double bed, and a shower room. A travel cot with associated bedding is also available on request. (2 people) ***** Jasmine Cottage is a three bedroomed house that has been specifically adapted for wheelchair users. It has a large double bed, wide doors, a roll-in wet room, an accessible open plan living room/kitchen, and a shower room downstairs. Two twin rooms, a hallway with a cot, and a shared bathroom are located on the upper floor. (2-6 people) ***** Both cottages have their own private patios to relax and unwind whilst watching the sun go down. Oh and the stars! Did I mention the stars? On a clear night, there is a fantastic view of the night sky. ***** ***** Location note: WIFI and phone signals are weak due to being in the middle of the countryside. If this is not an issue then you are guaranteed a peaceful and relaxing stay.*****
This small picturesque hamlet is situated in the heart of the peaceful countryside at the edge of a traditional village in the south-west region of Vienne, Poitou-Charentes. Wild boar, deer, buzzards, hares, wild birds are all on the doorstep. Search for laloge86250 on Pinterest for things to do around La Loge.
The town of Civray is about an eight minute drive away. In the town, opposite the 12th century church (under renovation at the moment) they have markets twice a week in the main square. The town has a mix of every imaginable shop you can wish for, it even has a small cinema that sometimes shows english films. It also has a tourist info office and a tiny museum next door. Civray has schools, colleges, doctors, nurses, dentists, vets, library, banks, post office etc. They also have an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Civray has a beautiful park that runs by the side of the river with picnic benches. Everybody tends to meet up on market days, especially on a Tuesday, when they sit outside the bars and restaurants and watch the world go by over a coffee, beer or glass of wine. There is a good mix of French and English shoppers and stall holders. It is a very friendly place to be with lots of social life. There are several different events that go on in the centre of the town. These include music, eating, singing and, of course, the odd glass of wine is consumed
