Neighborhood info
The pretty hamlet of Henham is home to the privately owned Henham Park Estate which has been owned by the Rous family since 1544 and is one of the largest listed parklands in the country. Each year Henham Park hosts the ever popular Latitude Festival - a family-friendly celebration of music, dance, comedy, theatre, literature, podcasts and wellness. Headline acts over the years have included Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, Paulo Nutini and Elbow, with Tom Jones also making an appearance back in 2010. Other events held at Henham Park include the Grand Henham Steam Rally and Henham Walks.
Within a short driving distance of the property is the charming seaside town of Southwold. The town has a bustling high street, as well as all of typical seaside attractions you would expect including a lighthouse, a beach hut lined promenade, harbour and a quirky pier. Southwold is a great place for eating out and has a variety of cafes, restaurants and delis. The Black Olive Delicatessen sells a tasty selection of savoury pies and salads which can be enjoyed on the go or taken home with you, whereas fish and chips from The Little Fish and Chip Shop is best eaten strolling along the promenade.
Across the harbour and River Blyth is the picture-perfect village of Walberswick. Much quieter than its neighbour Southwold, this seaside village is ideal for a day out with the buckets and spades on the sand and shingle beach, followed by a hearty pub lunch. The village boasts two pubs, The Bell Inn and The Anchor. The River Blyth which separates Southwold and Walberswick and meanders through many pretty Suffolk villages can be explored on foot, by bike or by boat.
