FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Ruins and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage site Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the Avon River overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-level Pulteney Weir and registered historic Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options include Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and brand-name stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath hotel, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Bath itself is a really nice town but I feel that there is too many students in work without customer skill. Visited the roman baths thought it was well overpriced what we paid for two people was too expensive should have thought about before we booked.

Bath is a wonderful city to visit.

Bath is a wonderful city to visit. Shopping is good with a wide range of shops and stores, from chains to independents. There are many really good cafes and restaurants. The architecture of the city is amazing and its a lovely place to just walk around and see the sights. The parks are pretty and the pubs are fun. I would highly recommend the Scallop Shell if you like fish and seafood.

Small city makes exploring easy and manageable for all. Beautiful sights to see and a bustling and lively place. Loved the Roman baths and the Thermae spa is a great way to rest your tired feet from all the exploring! We visited a comedy club that was great fun. Lots of places to eat but recommend booking as you may have to wait if you don’t.

If you don't want to sample the greatly overpriced attractions; just admire the architecture. Baths, pump room phenomenally overpriced. Leave these out and go to one of many side streets or walk to the Holburne museum cafe ( not the museum itself), enjoy a coffe and then explore the Sydney Gardens.

The Roman Baths are amazing and I also very much enjoyed the two exhibitions at the Holbourn museum (Gwen John and and an exhibition about African textiles: Lubaina Himid - Lost threads). There are also a great many parks. Unfortunately I did not get to experience the new working therme. The city is quite small though and I would therefore not recommend to allocate more than a couple of days to it, unless you want to drive and take in the surrounding area, too.

It was pricier than what we'd normally pay for a hotel, but having seen the reviews and photos online, we decided to book anyway. I can honestly say it was the best hotel we've every stayed at. The central location was perfect - close to Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths, the Pump Room, Pulteney Bridge and the shops. The building itself is really quaint and situated next door to the famous Sally Lunn Tea Rooms. Our room was beautifully decorated and had ample space. The staff were very welcoming and breakfast was really good also.

Room was big and had all the things one would expect in a decent hotel, and is modern and well thought-out. Toilet and shower were good, and the shower system had integrated controls for temperature and flow rate (i.e. it isn't the kind where the hot and cold water have separate knobs and you have to make corrections bit by bit to get the temperature and flow rate you want). Buffet breakfast was wonderful for such a cheap price. Note: If you are getting here by train, Oldfield Park is nearer than Bath Spa to this hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to be welcoming. Hotel is perfectly situated to all the major sights. The Royal Bath Theatre is right across the street! I have mobility issues and tire easily, I had no issues being able to visit a site then rest then go back out again! I had a room without any windows, which I knew when I booked it. I didn’t miss it as the air conditioning was amazing. Coolest room I’ve had yet in the UK.

The hotel is set back from the road, so no noise, very conveniently. Rooms were comfortable and pretty, the breakfast was excellent and the staff really helpful - booking taxis for us and helping my husband when he cut his finger. The price of the room was very good - it is a bus ride away from the centre of Bath but easily accessible on several busses.

Very cosy cute apartment, immaculate and beautifully decorated. We had everything we needed for 2 people. The bus stops right next to the house and it takes only 10 mins to get to the Bath city centre. Dan gave us precise instructions on how to get the key. The price quality ratio was much better than for the hotels in the centre that we’ve considered.
