Really friendly, warm, plenty hot water, quirky characterful old building.

We really enjoyed our stay. Christopher was incredibly charismatic, knowledgeable, and clearly takes great pride in being a 5-star host. The grounds were stunning, with a very lovely sunset in our room. The binoculars in each window was a nice touch.
Facilities were clean, bed was comfortable, and the food was impeccable. While we didn’t have a chance to head over to Wales, it is well placed for a trip (or to the Cotswold or Brighton). The Neolithic property, with current property ties going back to the 12th and 13th century - it’s a must for this wanting that classic British charm!
We will certainly be back.
Extremely good value. Comfortable, clean and quiet; friendly staff. OK so ‘no frills’ but still everything you need, for a great price. I stay here from time to time when visiting the area. Near to fast food outlets in service station, plus shops for basics/medicines. Otherwise, nice towns and eateries within easy driving distance. Curtains a bit dated … but really…. who cares?

Good Location. Lacks atmosphere.
Good Location. Lacks atmosphere.
Cold and drafty especially in the lobby, bar and restaurant.
Bathrooms could have been cleaner.
Bedrooms were a good size, beds were comfortable and well made up and the room was clean. Windows rattled and were drafty, as they did not close properly.
No guest ales or any form of traditional bitter offered. No Guinness. Just offered larger, cider or IPA on tap. No bottled traditional bitters either.
Restaurant lacks atmosphere and is not subsequently not supported by the locals which is a total shame.
Breakfast was the standard self service full english, with good sausages! Cereal and fruit also available.

Convenient location for overnight stay on long motorway journey. Bed was comfortable. Tv worked okay. Coffee making facilities okay. No view as to be expected on motorway area. Could not hear noise from traffic on motorway despite being close. Only minor grumble was that bath surround was discoloured and didn’t look inviting to use. Didn’t stay for breakfast so can’t comment but I believe you had to walk to southbound service area for this. For the price paid we got a fair service.

The Garden Annex was the perfect countryside retreat for my family during our recent stay in Gloucestershire. The setting was so quiet and peaceful, yet close to the motorway for easy access. The owner met us at the door with the key upon arrival. All of questions were addressed by him at this time. The apartment was spotlessly clean throughout and all basic necessities, including kitchen supplies, were included. We would definitely stay here again whilst visiting our family members in the area.

Sadly, during our visit, the restaurant was being refurbished but the Function Room was being used in its place. The food at Dinner was really excellent.
The staff were brilliant, polite and looked after us well.
Check-out was simple, made so easy by Elizabeth, who was looking after Reception at the time.
Our stay was exactly what we needed in the area for the Charity event we were taking part in the following day.
Great location just off the M5 outside of Bristol. We were coming back from a family holiday and needed a comfortable place to stay. We arrived late in the evening and the hotel staff promptly checked us in and showed us to our rooms.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean, we had a pleasant night sleep before continuing our travels the next day.
Room was a good size, had all the facilities needed and all worked well. Bed was comfortable and room had a nice feel. There were two chairs in the room, often hotels only supply one. TV appeared to be smart with internet access for iplayer etc, again unusual.
No breakfast provided at the hotel though. It would have been nice to have had a hot breakfast to start the day. Overall the stay was excellent. Exceptionally clean room and friendly staff. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you.
For the money we paid for a family room the place is not much different from other well known budget hotel chains. I also had all the usual thing, and for being in a motorway, is set to one side and relatively inmune to the noise
The hotel suffered complete water loss which could not be restored in a reasonable time. The staff were friendly and helpful and this was totally beyond their control. They gave us a FULL REFUND so fair play to them 👍👏
Was worried as it was classed as at the services but couldn't hear the traffic felt like a country setting and going in and out of the service road made it lovely ittle hotel. Very friendly staff brill price
Absolutely love this hotel, it is fabulous. Staff are all lovely, restaurant and bar are outstanding, our room was beautiful and the bed was SO LUXURIOUS!!
Very easy to find, if traveling northbound. Very clean, really friendly and helpful staff, larger than expected room and well appointed for a budget hotel.
