“I had made a mistake with my booking not realising we had reserved a room with a double bed. When I asked to change to a kingsize bed, we were given a free upgrade immediately. We had family over for dinner and were very well taken care of by the lovely staff. They observed all social distancing requirements perfectly, we all felt very safe including our family members who are both in their 80s. The food and wine were delicious and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We do stay here quite often and we have never had a bad experience.”

“The property’s location was very convenient and accessible to a lot of things. My twin room was very comfortable, although the bed was softer than I’m used to. All the staff was very friendly and helpful - I travel with medication that needs to be refrigerated and they didn’t hesitate to look after it for me. Plus they were able to accommodate my gluten and dairy allergies! A win-win all round. I will definitely stay at the Advocate again. Thanks!”

“Plenty of light! Some hotel rooms have very dim lighting. A Arms has bright centre light and lamps so there is a choice. Bathroom light very good and no hazardous glass shelf above the basin. Good breakfast menu catering for small and large appetites. Booked a family meal for 8 adults and 7 children. Food excellent. Promptly served. Staff thoroughly obliging.”

“close to Races . lovely rooms . hairdryer, coffee, tea , herbal tea , hot choc . No fridge but Thermos of milk provided for morning coffee . Bed was comfortable.extra pillows in wardrobe . Double glazed window so quiet on the street ( room 7 ) large tv of you need it . 15/20 mins walk to races . we didn’t have breakfast that’s extra in the price . ”
