“With a side entrance away from the pub, this was the perfect place for us to rest our heads whilst visiting family in the area. It's dog friendly and cheap, so that was ideal for our needs. Big, comfy beds and a private bathroom. The staff were really helpful, friendly and covid-savvy!”

“One of the few hotels catering for single traveller used as a base for hill walking in Glens Clova and Esk. Manged to book a second night as the weather first day was atrocious for hill walking. Conveniently situated in town with nearby shops / supermarket. Room 10 up 2 flights at back of hotel so quiet and comfortable bed. Shower iffy to get hot water - had to have bath second day instead. Staff friendly and helpful. Good food served all day in bar. Friendly breakfast cook willing to do early breakfast at 7.15am to enable early start on hills. As hotel was not busy some awkward parking for 3 or 4 cars at side of hotel up it's pen. Free in room wi-fi. J M Barrie nearby museum not open at this time of year (March).”
