I don't think we shall stay there again!

We came to Gretna to visit the outlet village and blacksmith's shop. We only came for an overnight stay and were able to do all that we wanted in that time. It is a lovely village surrounded by beautiful countryside. We were very pleased with our visit.

We have visited the area a few times and always found lots to do. The Gretna Inn is a great place for a meal. We had breakfast in the Gretna Visitor Centre and the lady was very helpful and cheery. We went to Dumfries, the Heathhall Garden Centre is exceptionally nice, love the teapot collection in the coffee shop. Visited Newton Stewart, as well as Caledonia Park Outlets.

Visited Gretna Gateway shopping outlet.
Visited Gretna Gateway shopping outlet. Had a nice morning browsing the outlets and buying some Christmas Presents.
There are numerous cafe's and eating spots in the Gateway so plenty of choice for eating.
Gretna Green is well signposted for all visitor attractions.

Please don't stay here as the basic necessities like a plug point by your bedside is unavailable. All the plug points are on the opposite wall and you cannot plug in any medical devices by your bedside. The staff had no consideration for my basic medical need to be able to breathe and flat out refused to give an extension cord to allow me to plug in my respirator.
Never understood how people can be so callus and cavalier in their attitude.
Had to make a stop off in Gretna Green at short notice on our way back from Scotland a day earlier than planned. Booked here giving an hour’s notice. Arrived to a friendly welcome. The owners (sorry I have forgotten their names but they were a lovely couple) gave us a bigger room than we had booked to ensure we had a good night’s sleep. They directed us to local places still open so we could get supper. The cooked breakfast in the morning was lovely. All in all had a wonderful experience.
We stayed 1 night on our way to moray and then on our way back. This was booked last year but had to be cancelled because of lockdown, but the owner kepted us updated all the time, and rebooked our stay for now. Very friendly and helpfull would recommend this hotel we will certainly use again when we visit scotland again. Breakfast is very good rooms well stocked and comfortable
The hotel is in a very good location with easy access to and from the motorway: It also provides a useful base to explore a lovely part of Scotland.
Our room was very comfortable and clean as were all guest areas.
We had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant which was absolutely superb with attentive and pleasant staff, as were reception and housekeeping staff.
The hotel needs a refurb my hair was full of flaking head board the floors don't just creak they moan !!! It was noisy because the floors really creak doors slamming and the kitchen noise too.The food was mediocre at best and the chef got the order wrong too so all in all not worth the money in my opinion .
The welcome was warm.
Next to the hotel is a authentic pub where was offered food and drinks. The staff there care you.
The hotel is in walking distance to gretna green. But be aware gretna green is a tourist hot spot!!! To the Hadrians Wall you have to drive or to go by public transport.
The property was in a quiet area off the motorway. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
It’s a destination for weddings and it was enjoyable to see a few, complete with bagpiper, while we were there.
Overall, the property appears to be dated.
This hotel is located in a trucker's parking on the side of the highway. Staff has bad attitude. We expressed our discontent, they apparently agreed but said there is nothing they can do. Promised a manager will call the next day to make things up, it didn't happen.
Perfect location! great breakfast! great evening meal! Quick service! Staff friendly, professional ! I could not manage stairs, I have mobility problems at times. hotel accomodated for this at short notice! staff very helpful.Perfect car parking facility.
In an excellent location near to the railway station and the famous attractions, especially just across the road from the Gretna Hall Hotel and the couple currently running it are lovely. It is currently up for sale.
Lovely hotel, staff all very freindly. Room had everything we needed. They even put a tiny fridge in there for my medication. Very close to Gretna Green. Beautiful grounds and a lovely little church. Very quirky.
Just off the motorway and ideal for my onward journey, this is a no pretence “cheap hotel”. I paid £29 for 1 night. I would be hard pressed to feel comfortable paying the £45 rate posted outside.
Everything in and around the hotel is beautiful, the staff are all excellent and the cleanliness very exceptional. The breakfast self service was kept well stocked (could be a bit warmer).
