Lee and the other staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, always going above and beyond to make you feel at home. Piping hot cooked breakfast and great coffee. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was absolutely perfect. The rooms are beautiful, cleaned every day and tea/coffee replenished. Run by family who love the Lodge and more importantly are pleased to welcome you into their home and treat you like a member of the family. Tillly the sausage queen dog is beautiful and a real asset to the lodge. Lee the owneri is head chef, gardener and DIY expert and is always there to help or advise if needed, assisted by his Mom in the kitchen each morning to serve up delicious full english breakfasts cooked to order. I can not recommend the Altonlea lodge highly enough.

Well, everything really. Breakfasts were superb, carefully prepared by Lee just as you like it. Room was comfortable and quiet, parking secure around back of property. Location is great, about 80 metres from Seaton Carew beach, which is a long, long stretch of fine sand. We were made to feel very welcome and at home by Olwen, Tony and Lee.

The family-run Altonlea Lodge is housed in a well-restored, listed building. It opens onto a South-facing, Italian-style garden.

The Altonlea's 2 buildings are connected by a loggia, a glass hall which opens onto the garden. Traditional rooms have a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, and either a private or shared bathroom.

Hartlepool’s Marina and Shopping Center are just a 5-minute drive away and you can also visit the historic quay. The historic city of Durham, Beamish Museum and the Metro Center are within 30 miles of the property.

  • When is the best time to visit your property for the perfect beach holiday?

    Summer time is best for a beach holiday, though a spring/autumn walk along the promenade can be refreshing. We are located centrally along the beach with only a 1 minute walk from the house to the beach.

  • Would you allow a small dog?

    Hi! Thanks for your message. Unfortunately we do not allow pets in guest rooms after a number of incidents in the past. I believe the Travel Lodge in Hartlepool accepts them, at a small charge. Enjoy your visit to Hartlepool Olwen, Tony and Lee

  • hi do you allow dogs?

    Sorry, but we are unable to accept dogs for the comfort of our other guests. The only place we know of that accepts dogs is the travel lodge

    Hi. All our rooms are ensuite - I think there is a problem with our listing on Booking.com but I've not been able to resolve yet. If you look at our website all the rooms are listed with individual photos and floor plans. Hope to welcome you soon
