The landlady was very friendly and did her best to make our stay comfortable. We had everything we needed and our room was clean. We arrived in a rainy day and were wet. She immeditaely turned on the heating in the room. Breakfast well cooked and was tasty.

Very attentive couple running the lodge. I phoned to request earlier check in due to attending a wedding and they allowed me to collect the keys and showed me around the lodge. The room and bathroom provided were perfect with a great breakfast in the morning!! Highly recommend!

  • is there somewhere to park?

    Free parking for 2 small cars / 1 big car at the back of our guesthouse, in front of our garage, down a narrow lane (wing mirrors in) & turn left. Parking in front of the guesthouse (street parking) is free for 2 hrs from Mon to Sat (4pm to 10am).

  • hello - I would like to ask how late we could arrive if I book a twin room for myself and my 16 year old son on the 15th July - checking out on the 16th. We are driving from London in the evening so depending on traffic would arrive between 9-10pm - would this be possible? kind regards - Jessica

    Thank you for your question. Check in time is between 4pm and 10pm so if you plan to arrive between 9pm and 10pm you should be fine. We are flexible if you arrive a little late up to 10:30pm but after that we charge a late arrival fee of £15.

  • it possible to keep our push-bikes somewhere safe overnight whilst staying with you on Aug 8th

  • Hi, We are a family - 2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 4). We would prefer to stay in one room if possible. Can your family room accommodate it? The 2 kids and one of us could fit on a large double, but would be better if there were 2+2 or 2+1+2. Can you please let me know? Thank you Slava

    Thank you for your inquiry. Yes we can accommodate 4 persons. Our Family Room consists of a King sized bed and a single bed comfortably sleeping 3 however we can add a rollaway bed alongside the other side of the King bed to sleep an extra person. There is an extra charge per night for the rollaway bed. Pictures and prices for the family room and other rooms may all be found on our web page. With our best wishes James & Katherine

  • i think I know the answer but have you any rooms on the ground floor? My mother has stayed with you several times and wants to stay again. However her mobility has declined and she is would not now be able to use the stairs

  • How easy is it to park? How close to the beach? How close is Dartmouth castle? Thanks

    We have a small parking space at the rear of the property as well as parking roadside in front or nearby. We are about 25-30 minutes drive from Lyme Regis or Charmouth at the Jurassic Coast & we are about one & Half hours drive to Dartmouth Castle.

Conveniently located at the top of the High Street opposite the Chard Museum, we are a short walk away from the shops and restaurants. Ammonite Lodge is a 300 year old cottage style building, full of character and charm.

James & Katherine welcome you to their home, an 18th century large cottage, a 4 star accredited guest house. Only a 2 minute walk to a wide choice of restaurants and pubs. We also have a lovely dining room and a cosy lounge for guest use.
