Sutton on Sea with its beautiful beaches is only 6 miles away. Skegness is 14 miles away.
Nicola & myself have owned the Anchor now for 15 years. Nicola has been in the hospitality & Catering trade for a lot of years (34) I didn't tell you that. Myself i was a Programmer Setter in Engineering before we bought the Anchor. Alford has been our home now for 15 years.
Alford is a fantastic small town of roughly 3500 people. They are warm and very welcoming. Alford was mentioned in the Magna Carta when 13 people lived here. Things of interest in Alford. The August Bank Holiday Fair has so many attractions it has got to be one of the best in Britain. Cadwell Park Motorbikes is on regular. There have been quite a few people of interest that have come from here. Just one or two to mention Captain John Smith. Yes, Captain John Smith. From Disney's Pocahontas. No, he was not a cartoon first. He lived just down the road at Willoughby. He went to Queen Elizabeth 1st School in St. Wilfred's Church Alford. Also, Thomas Paine went to America and was said to have coined the phrase The United States Of America. When they signed The Declaration of Independence. Alford is well worth a visit. Alford is a quaint, quiet, and convenient place to visit. August Bank Holiday is Fantastic.
