I was upgraded to a bigger room with lounge area and it was just perfect for my dogs and I, the staff fantastic with my dogs and I had friends meet me one xmas evening and we had a lovely meal great ambiance and many dog walks from the pub.

My wife happened to be ill from a previous locations poor dinner and so was feeling queasy and hesitant to eat the dinner we had booked. The staff offered her soup and a custom plain cheese for her while I had the full works on room service.

It is a quiet town very convenient for visiting Winchester, Salisbury, the New Forest, Newbury, Whitchurch and Southampton. Anton Lakes local Natural Reserve gives a good opportunity to relax sitting on a bench and watching wildlife birds. A quiet town, without much to see.
A quiet town, without much to see. The Anton River canal near the old mill and the Anton lakes are the only places worth visiting, the river has ducks and swans as well. The town has supermarkets, and a train station and the distances are relatively easy to walk, even with luggage.

Like so many towns,trade has been forced out and many cheaper shops move in. In does have regular markets. A good spot to go out to visit but Andover itself is not so picturesque as it shoukd be. I nice chalk river runs through which has not been enhanced. Such a shame. Indians,Chinese Wetherspoons and other pubs available. Went to the Siam Orchid. Very nice and booking might be necessary.

We visited Andover as were were going to the BSB round at Thruxton. There are lots of place to eat in Andover we opted for an Indian called Chilies, it was empty so were a bit worried but it is one of the best curries we have had in a while. Staff very polite and attentive. Can thoroughly recommend it. The hotel, Jack Russell Fox, which is a Wetherspoons pub chain was excellent. Staff and food were what you would expect. Chute forest is tranquil with pleasant surrounding countryside, great for cycling. The pubs in the area are good offering various cuisines. The Fox Inn and The Hatchet in Lower chute are recommended to visit. Salisbury is better for shopping with the fabulous Cathedral a must to see.

Given the current COVID restrictions it was all well managed and controlled. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The whole stay including the breakfast and evening meal was very good offering value for money. I would definitely use Wetherspoons for overnight stays if there was one in the area I was staying at.

The location is at the heart of Andover and there are many restaurants & bars around. With a large pedestrian shopping street. Paid parking is also nearby. We stayed here because of our trip to the Peppa Pig park , and we loved our stay. Would repeat without hesitation.
