We stayed here only one night whilst doing the Great Glen Way although it seemed like a beautiful place and there seemed to be many other things to do in the area. Lots of options for dinner (compared with other towns along the way).

Fort Augustus is a great spot to attractions in the area and easy drive for location upto 2hours away, like Glencoe, Fort William, Glenfinnin Viaduct, Aviemore ski fields, Urquart Castle, Inverness, Skye. Cruising or walk along Loch Ness are brilliant.
The town is gorgeous with many good eateries within walking distance or a short drive away.
Locals are friendly, inviting and engaging. I would live there if I could!

Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really.
Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really. Walked around a bit in the evening when we arrived. Only there for 2 days and used as a base for trips around Loch Ness - Urquart Castle, Culloden Battlefield. Which were all great.
Arrived on a Friday night after 8pm in early November. Only places still serving food were a very expensive Chinese restaurant in a hotel and a place called The Moorings which appeared to be a kebab shop that dabbled in everything else. Unfortunately, they should stick to one thing and really try to nail that. We ordered the worst eat out Pizzas we've ever eaten - worse than home brand supermarket frozen and they were very expensive - £15+ each. Even the local chip shop was closed, at 8.30pm on a Friday! OK, we didn't come for the late night fast food. Bring your own or eat a good lunch.

Much quieter than Inverness and a delightful pretty village with good pubs and recommend The Bothy. Take a short walk to the very bottom of Loch Ness. Also take a drive down the much quieter and superbly more scenic route down the east side of Loch Ness on B862/B852. Fascinating to see the canal locks in the village.

Fort Augustus is a small compact little village with so much to see and do. There are plenty of delightful gift shops, great places to eat and stunning scenery. There is a Loch cruise boat service providing trips on the Loch as well as telling you a lot of interesting information about the natural history of the Loch and its famous monster! The Caledonian canal, which runs into the Loch, has a series of lock gates that make for an interesting watch when boats pass through.
The ambience, surroundings and environment were exceptional and out of this world, even better than the official loch ness viewport at Fort Augustus. Lots of effort placed into the decoration of the cabin and it was really comfortable staying in. Due to its unique location and nature, it feels very private and privileged. We had fun using the self catering kitchen - felt at home! Not forgetting that the host Osh was super friendly and jovial.
We loved everything about the Cabin. The hosts had added so many lovely touches which we appreciated so much, a map of the area on the wall was really useful, lots of leaflets for local attractions and most importantly cakes on arrival! The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful highlands and the village of Fort Augustus and Loch Ness are just a short walk away if you want to go on a boat trip or get something to eat.
The hostel was ideal for a stop over, it was very clean and had friendly staff. The location was great for being able to walk into Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. Very quiet as well with a good breakfast selection. We really appreciated the packed lunch option. I managed to accidently book the wrong date and they managed to last minute update the booking with only a couple of weeks notice. The communication was great.
Staff is great, the place is spacious (both rooms and common areas), quiet and comfortable. Many facilities - indoor sitting areas, back yard with sitting areas, pub, self-catered kitchen, books, games, piano, many electrical outlets, lockers, spaceius showers, great breakfast. Very clean.
The village is beautiful, with a grocery store, food and pubs, the Locks are lovely! And the are several hiking trails.
We really enjoy our stay at this B&B! Sofia, the owner, was always on top of everything and sending us information ahead of time. We arrived late at night and if it wasn't for her directions, I am not sure we would have found the place. She also gave us recommendations for dinner in town. Loved the large room and extra comfortable bed. Great spa style shower :)!! Give it a 11/10!!
it was very well furnished with a good layout and in a good location for exploring the area and walking into fort augustus.
hosts were very helpful
it is a pod so space is limited but it did have a very confortable bed, couch area and table and chairs so very well thought out to maximise the space.
Shower was excellent after a long day walking / cycling
The home is in a lovely location. It was a 15 minute walk though the golf course and along a canal to the center of Fort Augustus. The room was comfortable with extras like a dvd player (with dvds), a stuffed Nessie sitting on a book about the area, and homemade cupcakes. Breakfast was exceptional and the dining area was lovely.
Loved the setting, wonderful rooms, great comfortable beds, everything very high quality. Had a great evening meal - loved the beetroot pickle. The common areas are very spacious, light and nicely decorated. Lovely walks straight from the hotel, and easy walk to Fort Augustus. Excellent breakfast - whiskey porridge was fabulous.
Chris and Felicity were extremely welcoming and helpful. The apartment was exceptional and a credit to them. Fort Augustus is the perfect base to explore the Highlands and the apartment was the perfect base in Fort Augustus! Would recommend without hesitation.
Quiet location just out of Fort Augustus. Beautiful landscape, deer around the house and a rural atmosphere.
Spacious kitchen and living room. Comfortable shower. If the weather had been warmer, we would have made use of the sitting area outside.
This is a peaceful, very comfortable, immaculate B & B with an excellent breakfast.
Natalie, our host was very friendly and informative.
Fort Augustus is an excellent venue with good restaurants, Loch Ness and the Canal to explore.
Lodge was great, modern and clean with excellent facilities including a hot tub. Loch Ness Highland Resort also has really good facilities and friendly staff. Perfect location a few minutes walk from Fort Augustus and Loch Ness.
Cozy and private, even though just a few steps from a busy tourist attraction (canal and Loch Ness). Kitchen well outfitted, loved having washer/dryer on site, comfy couches for curling up with a book by the electric coal stove.
Communal area was a lovely large space and the dining area was well stocked with breakfast cereals and tea, milk, coffee etc.
It is extremely close to the centre of Fort Augustus with lovely walks along the canal path.
Large comfy bed, amazing spa bath which was very much needed after walking the Great Glen Way. Perfect location in the centre of Fort Augustus and a brilliant continental breakfast delivered to our room.
The breakfast was included in the price of the room. Clean room. You can use common spaces such as the kitchen and the living room. You can check-in whenever you want through a code sent by the hotel.
Lovely place in pretty Fort Augustus, lots of places to eat.
Room was great, spacious clean and comfortable - the shower was very impressive!
Great breakfast to start the day as well.
Good sized room with a great view of Loch Ness and was clean and comfortable and the staff were pleasant and very helpful With an excellent breakfast choice.
Superb clean Hotel, dog friendly rooms, fantastic staff and excellent location. Chef makes a Menu that is so tasty and certainly fine dining experience.
