St Albans is a very friendly town with people opening doors and being kind and considerate.
We ate in whetherspoons in their Tudor barns and they also had an outdoor area to eat and drink if no rain! The pricing of everything we ate and drank was of good value and was very clean.
There was lots of places we wanted to visit but most of our holiday it rained! But we did visit the shops which are all different and have different price ranges and styles.

I was there for work so didn't really have a chance to look around the place. I managed a visit to the cathedral which is a marvellous hulk of a mediaeval building and still an active place of worship. Wel worth a visit.

A classic english town with traditional houses, historical places and a small but well-cared city centre. St.Albans has a wonderful gothic cathedral, the calm and nature of the wide city park and the oldest pub in the UK is there. Services and shops make the city a nice place to live and to visit.
The hotel is being refurbished as being taken over by Hilton shortly. It didn’t really disturb us but the restaurant is shut. Being on the main road it was easy to walk to get dinner and breakfast. The bar area is very small but lots of wine bars nearby There is a drop off for passengers and luggage at the side of the hotel parking is free but 4 minutes walk away. I would go back if that way again as I liked being near the town. Rooms were away from main road small but comfortable good size bath
Lovely old building(s) with style of decor in keeping. Room was comfortable, and spotless (as were all the other areas in the hotel). Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, quick service and tasty produce. Great location - short walk to shops/cafes/restaurants, slightly further to the Cathedral and Roman Museum. Quite close to train station (but we couldn't hear any trains at all), so convenient for a day trip to London. Also, quiet at night.
Very nice, super clean and spacious apartment. Well equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. Good for individuals, great for families. Good connection by bus to city centre. I can recommend it to everyone for a pleasant and peaceful stay in St Albans.
The breakfast was delicious. The grounds are also stunning with a beautiful view from the terrace. The spa is also stunning - spacious, clean, luxurious and pretty quiet in the evenings. This is the second time we've stayed at the hotel and would return indeed.
I was made welcome by one and all at the hotel.
The full English breakfast was fantastic.
I also bought dinner there for the two nights of my stay. The food was great and the service was wonderful.
Thank you for making my stay so pleasurable.
great location and bed was very comfortable and great temperature in the room
nice to see water was available in the lobby
free parking in the hotel area is a massive positive and close to m25
This is a lovely location for a stay. It's in the conservation area of St Albans and it's set in gorgeous grounds. There's plenty of on-site parking and the hotel itself is clean and comfy.
