This is a truly atmospheric Hotel, and I do not mean, shabby, or uncared-for! It is a real manner, with labyrinthine passages, and gorgeous public rooms, the staff are young, overworked and uniformly excellent the young man who served me my dinner and the ladies at breakfast Deserve special, mention and as the lady on the front desk.
The room I stayed in had been very recently refurbished and was very smart, indeed, fitted out in various shades of grey with a grey slate bathroom. It blended very harmoniously with the rest of the property.
For dinner, I tried a steak, a pedestrian choice, but when that is usually very good at determining as a first glance, the overall quality of the restaurant.
I actually dined in the bar of the fire brigade union! And I had one of the finest ribeyes that I have encountered anywhere in the last 20 years. Yes, really! Cooked exactly as ordered served with all the normal trimmings a 10 ounce ribeye of the first quality for £26.
I really cannot praise this Hotel enough, it has been through some difficult times and has risen up gloriously, the icing on the cake was a first class breakfast with all you can imagine one offer, including a massive choice of fruits and a cooked breakfast choice that would rival hotels at three times the price
And now, to the price, a double room for one person, and the full breakfast described above set me back with my Booking.com, genius benefits, the princely sum of £61. Astonishing.
If you were anywhere near Sheffield, Barnsley and it’s environs deficit This beautiful property, spend a little time in the lovely grounds and reflect that it is still possible to enjoy this level of quality without spending a king ransom.
Congratulations to everyone concerned, I shall return!

Easy check in and stay. I didn't use other facilities but the room and car park, but they were good.

This was the 3rd time we had visited this Hotel and we love it every time!
It was my partner's birthday and the lady on reception very kindly upgraded us to a Four Poster Room free of charge, which was a lovely surprise and the room was amazing, so thank you again!
The Menu had also changed and there seems to be a lot more choice, the food was fantastic too!
We will definitely visit again and hopefully soon for my birthday 😊

Fantastic apartment, the bedroom is on the smaller side but it's still good space for a short stay. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, heating worked well. Overall had an excellent stay and will be returning for the next works do!

Hotel was fine as always, but imagine my surprise at receiving TWO parking tickets a few weeks later for £100 each. I was not informed at the check-in desk about the new parking arrangements where vehicles have to be registered with the hotel, and staff failed to mention the new parking system in order to access the free car parking facilities. . I have been a regular guest every month for about five years, so just a warning if you stay at Ibis Styles Barnsley.

RECEPTION STAFF GOOD.
RECEPTION STAFF GOOD. LIFT & ROOM DIRTY, SHOWER SHOCKINGLY BAD (LOW PRESSURE), BED UNCOMFORTABLE - BREAKFAST EXPENSIVE BUT STAFF AND FOOD GOOD. PAID B&B DOUBLE ROOM £54 + £10 FOR BREAKFAST. THE ROOM WAS PROBABLY WORTH £45!!...IF THE SHOWER HAD WORKED PROPERLY AND THE BED WAS COMFORTABLE. IT'S A 2 STAR HOTEL.

The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, particularly the bar and wait staff. The Fairway is very busy at the weekend but it was never difficult to get someone’s attention and assistance. The menu - while not overly extensive - offered plenty of choices and proved to be very good value.
The floors on the first floor are very squeaky and the hot water in the bathrooms is really hot, something we’re not used to in Australia.
The venue itself is well situated with easy access to the motorways and main cities nearby.
We’d stay there again.

Booked a room for 2 adults and a child under 1 year old, our allocated room was not accessible by with a pushchair so had to accept a lesser rated one.
Aside from that the hotel was very nice and the staff were excellent. Well located for motorway.

Barnsley its self has not much to say about but the hotel we stayed in would be ideal for people as a base to explore the surrounding area it was a 1 night stay for a family funeral so didnt venture far
Unforeseen circumstances arose,Trudi was ill and not able to fulfill the niceties in her house let, We were offered to be put up in a hotel but this was not at all suitable for our family,we had a conversation and come to joint agreement I would clean bathroom & kitchen & clean laundry was sent by courier,I made up two beds the linen was perfect also the towels. Also the pub on top of the road amazing so friendly & welcoming. The house was a perfect stay for us & we would definitely use it again.
Location wasn’t bad next to the M1 motorway. staff are really nice and friendly. the hotel is spotlessly clean and tidy as were the rooms. Excellent free parking. nice Tony Carvery directly opposite the hotel. friendly customers too. despite being next to the M1 and a railway line, the soundproofing of the room was excellent - Not that it would have bothered us anyway as we live on a busy road! breakfast was lovely too, as was the lady supervising the area. family friendly hotel.
Lovely grounds and very friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was as expected in a hotel. It was well cooked and presented and there was some lovely fresh bread. The evening bar meal was good value for money and the draft beer well tended. The public areas overall were nicely presented. Signposting to the various parts of the hotel was good.
The cottage was perfect for us, it was lovely and clean and comfortable with all the required amenities. The location was good for us as we had easy access into Barnsley. The village was in walking distance and there was a nice country walk for the dogs which lead into a cricket meadow.
Lovely clean room, access to a very nice shared bathroom and kitchen, the access code to enter the property went to my home phone instead of my mobile but the property owner sorted it very quickly! Close to Barnsley town centre and parking on site was a bonus!
The hotel had everything we needed, we treated ourselves to the executive suite and it was huge.
The restaurant is really good, lots of options for all tastes, evening meals and breakfast are great. Staff are always friendly as this was not our first visit.
Looked a lovely hotel We didn’t manage to use the facility their full potential as this was an over night stay for us to head out to a concert locally
Staff on reception and in bar area and main restaurant very friendly
The apartment is clean, comfortable and modern. It is located right in the town centre. Check in/ out was straight forward and the host Dave responded to messages promptly. Look forward to staying here again.
Breakfast was lovely and a good selection. Comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Shower was not hot enough, so this needs looking at in Room 217. Room a bit tired in areas but mostly ok. Nice hotel.
The Friendliest most helpful staff, hotel very clean and user friendly, super Value , this Hotel and all its hard working staff deserves much more support in these difficult financial times
Good location from centre about 10/15min walk, easy self check in, free parking down the side street to right of the food place in between houses. Host replies very quick😊
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room had fresh towels and very clean. Bar area was very nicely air conditioned and comfortable. Car park was good size.
Convenient for Barnsley town centre and Interchange. Well-equiped shared kitchen with fridge, freezer and cupboard space assigned to each room. In quiet side street.
