This property in my own opinion is a little gem in the Lake District area that you need to visit,
The building is old but has lots of character very comfortable quiet room, four poster bed, bathroom was basic but everything worked fine, Dan on reception is very friendly and helpful and always there if you need assistance, we really enjoyed are short time here, the food is excellent one of the best breakfasts and meals we have had in a hotel for a while
Try the burger stack you won’t be disappointed 10 out of 10 for service and customer care, I wish more hotels could run like this one, they really do care about the people who stay here , it’s certainly worth a visit 👍

Cockermouth is a pretty town with many buildings of interest. Wordsworth's birthplace is there, but it is closed in winter.
The rivers Cocker and Derwent flow through the town with banks of daffodils in spring.
Plenty of small shops, restaurants and traditional pubs as well as two supermarkets.

We were here to visit a relative and have been several times before so know the area pretty well. Plenty of places to eat or Get a drink, (alcoholic or otherwise).
Supermarkets handily placed and lots of independent shops with a side range of goods.

A terrific little town, great local shops, interesting Wordsworth Museum. Pic of us dressing up in Museum! Good town centre parking. Lots of pubs and places to eat. There's even a theatre. The whole place is old but very interestingly pictureque. We will make a habit of coming back

Cockermouth has potential but is in need of more eateries, we stayed 3 nights and struggled to find anywhere nice for meals. The Bush is a lovely pub with good food but that's all we had to choose in the area.

Broughton Craggs is a few miles from Cockermouth and well...
Broughton Craggs is a few miles from Cockermouth and well placed for the Northern fringe of the Lake District. I was walking some of the English Coast Path from Bowness on Solway to St Bees and the location was fine for doing that stretch in bits.
The room was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a lovely night's stay. Very cosy living space with comfy sofa. The kitchen and bathroom were all new and nicely kept. The host was really nice and friendly too. The place is set in lovely and peaceful countryside, yet very easy to get to from the main roads. It's also perfect for dogs, as our dog is reactive to sounds in hotels/b&b's etc but as the walls are so thick and it's so quiet, he slept through without barking.
The property was in a fantastic location and the hotel itself has some wonderful views. The rooms and beds were in general comfortable, but the theme of country luxury and indulgence was somewhat spoilt by the use of budget hotel fittings (like cheap branded soap dispensers being affixed to the walls in the bathrooms and plastic shelving in the bedrooms). We left an item of clothing when we departed and the hotel were quick to advise us and arrange for its return which was appreciated.
Irene Court is in a perfect position to enjoy everything that Cockermouth has to offer. Literally 3 minutes walk to the high Street.
The apartment we stayed in is modern and very comfortable with everything that we needed to make our stay extremely enjoyable and dog friendly too. The parking space is just a few metres from the front door in a courtyard very easy to get our luggage in and out. We will not hesitate to book again next time we visit the Lake District.
Excellent location for exploring Lakeland, especially the much overlooked Western Lake District. Cockermouth (2 miles away) is a very pleasant town and a good shopping centre, and much quieter than the touristy towns such as Keswick.
A lovely shower with plenty of hot water and space.
The convenience of a dishwasher.
Private parking right by the apartment.
A genial host who could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
The location was very convenient for exploring the Lake District and the hotel was excellent at arranging free parking nearby, plus a good breakfast was included in a café two doors down. The room was furnished to a high standard with a spacious bathroom. The self check-in process was easy and the owners were great at communicating with us prior to our arrival. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful decorated, charming, plenty of space in the garden, everything was properly functional, kitchen was well appointed, beds were comfortable. Appreciated the two separate living areas. The town is adorable and has some interesting places that are walkable. The grocery and restaurants were walkable, though the way is quite hilly.
Good location near to the centre
Fairly spacious property
The host was helpful when we couldn’t work the tv and removed all the rubbish of the previous guests when I asked where I could get rid of it to
It was quite clean generally
Great the fact dog was made welcome and even left some treats for him!!
Beautiful flat, spacious, modern, comfortable and has everything you could possibly need! Spotlessly clean, has a lovely deep bath as well as a shower. Good quality toiletries. Kitchen even has a dishwasher and a large fridge freezer.
Fabulous central location.
Very friendly staff, comfortable & homely feel.
Food was excellent especially the steak pie, best ever!
Location is great for the High St shops and restaurants.
Tried several hotels in the area, for me personally this rates as the best option so far.
Beautiful, clean home from home. Great location for a walk down to town and parking right outside the door. Little garden was great for our dog and must be lovely in the summer.
Thanks for a lovely stay in Daffodil House, Cockermouth.
Overall a fantastic place. Great location although it's a little bit out there from the core Lake District attractions. However, the scenic areas surrounding the location made up for the distance. Quaint little town!
Cosy and a super comfy bed!
Small open plan living area perfect for a couple. Log burner and a parking space an added bonus. Dog friendly! Great central location with an independent bakery literally on your doorstep!
Excellent breakfast served in the dinning area, tables and guests well spaced out making it feel very safe. Rooms close to the centre of Cockermouth idea for accessing the many restaurants in town.
Great and modern hotel. Steak retaurant was lovely. Rooms were very clean. Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly, at both check in and in the restaurant. We will stay again when in the area.
Lovely friendly service. Tasty well presented food.I loved the interior design in the restaurant & breakfast area. Not far from the Lake District National Park. Will definitely stay again.
Staff were excellent, special mention to Kane who couldn't do enough for us. It's a family run hotel, with the friendliness you'd hope for.
Evening meal was great.
Very good breakfast, very friendly staff. Nice area with beautiful garden and peacocks. Bar in the hotel, very cosy sitting area with very comfortable sofas.
