Well not so much ilminster itself as a head to place but the area in General has much to offer and not just Meusems or Churches
We visited Cheddar Gorge and other nearbye Towns and seaside Villages, visiting some Great Brocant's where it's hard to say no to that additional piece of clutter.

We chose Ilminster as it was fairly close to the M5 but not too far from Lyme Regis, where we were visiting the following day. We didn't spend time in Ilminster, just used the hotel as a overnight stop, but it looked characterful and was a great location to other attractions, including Lyme Regis.

Lovely central location so you can go to Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Taunton and Wells in approximately an hour or under. Ilminster is a small town, with a large Tesco and other small shops for all you needs. Friendly locals and plenty of places to visit for all the family. Highly recommended for a perfect getaway.

Ilminster is quite a small place, but has some nice pubs and restaurants, and there is beautiful countryside around it. Close to Yeovil and Glastonbury, less than one hour drive from Exeter, and some nice National Trust places close by to visit.
We enjoyed every minute in this well appointed B&B. The gardens are lovely, and our room on the ground floor was unique and very comfortable. It included a king size bed and a free standing bath tub and separate shower. There is a hot tub on the property and outdoor areas to relax. The owner prepares an amazing breakfast to order. This is one of the nicest places we have stayed during our travels.
Lovely location and excellent host. Had breakfast and evening meals and food and service were very good .
Room had large comfortable bed and facilities were very good with both bath and separate shower .
What more can we say .. would recommend The Flying Fish for anyone who wants a good value stay in lovely south Somerset countryside.
The location was good, not far from the M5 and Ilminster had some good pubs.
The Breakfast was good although the cooked items were left on a hot plate for quite a long time. Because we were booked on a 2 day course we had a 3 course lunch each day (which was good home cooking type food) and home made cake in the afternoons.
Fabulous location it's our second time at the hotel, evening meal was fantastic I had the homemade Chicken pie it was amazing with whole chunks f fresh chicken, a creamy mushroom sauce and a crusty pastry. My partner had a risotto with local asparagus and fresh prawns. Breakfast the next day was perfect
Contrasting with "upmarket" chain hotels I've stayed in recently it was great - the TV was an ACTUAL smart TV which was NOT the case in a Voco or a holiday Inn express. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant belonging to the property serves first class cuisine and reasonably priced
Really nice stay at this lovely hotel.
Lots of free parking and good links to the motorway.
My room was large clean and very comfortable and the walk in shower was a great addition.
Evening meal was excellent so was the breakfast.
A very nice stay indeed.
Lovely converted country cider barn. Nicely kitted out in all of the living areas with lots of kitchen stuff and plush cushions. Host is nice and friendly. Cute baby chicks in outbuilding!!
Hotel located in an exceptionally pretty village. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with great attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable. It was quiet and we slept well.
Lots of space with all the facilities, very comfortable bed and plenty food in the fridge. Good location for travelling around Somerset and close to Ilminster.
Staff were very accommodating, nothing appeared too much trouble.
Dog friendly accommodation with exercise area and options in Bar lounge area to take dog
