The location is brilliant for exploring York..couldn't be better...the breakfast sets you up for a day of walking around York itself.

AustraliaBoth the pub and the rooms are lovely - clean, comfortable, everything you need. Good shower pressure, towel warmer, etc. Very comfortable in theory! All the staff were really nice and helpful. Full hot breakfast cooked to order between 9 and 9:30am.
United States of AmericaIt was terrific. Staff great. Breakfast excellent. Location great for sightseeing. Rooms very clean. Care has obviously been taken. Please note that this is pub with some rooms upstairs, not a traditional hotel or B&B. If that works for you, it's great. I'd do it again. Please also note, no lift so plan to carry whatever luggage upstairs. Also, don't show before 12N, pub, thus rooms, not open until then.
United States of AmericaRoom was fine.... very comfy bed. Nice shower... and washcloths provided. Only thing missing was a rack for my suitcase .... had to put it on the floor... Otherwise a very good stay. Breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent.
CanadaThe room was very nice and comfortable. I felt very pampered by the accommodations and breakfast provided in the morning. It was also very close to everything you’d want to see in York.

United KingdomExcellent location in centre of York. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Staff really helpful. I arrived nearly 2 hours before the suggested earliest booking in time and was going to ask if I could leave my bag whilst I went to meet a friend. However, my room was ready and was shown to it which was an added bonus.
