Chatty host, lovely lady, helpful overall. Amazing bedroom and bathroom. Very good breakfast. Strong wifi. Is worth the price.
IrelandPauline and Bob are very welcoming, kind, and super helpful. The breakfast was lovely, and the conversation was even better.
United States of AmericaIt’s a good location, and a lovely home. The hosts live on the lower level, and are very friendly and hospitable. The bed was comfy, and it was quiet.
United States of AmericaOur room was spacious and very comfortable. Convenient location in the middle of town. Bob fixed us a delicious "full Scottish breakfast" each day -- very tasty! Hosts Pauline and Bob are very friendly and warmly welcoming.
United States of AmericaExcellent hosts, great place. Breakfast was perfect.
United States of AmericaThe owners, Pauline and Bob, made our one-night stay very enjoyable because they were friendly and good company. If you like golf; scenic St Andrews is only a stone's throw away! As is the beautiful East Neuk of Fife. Anstruther is the place to go for the Best fish and chips! If it's good enough for Robert De Niro and Tom Hanks? Enough said.
United KingdomEverything The room was big enough for the 3 of us The owners were really friendly and chilled The breakfast was excellent Could not ask for more

This house is built on the grounds of the old Cupar castle hence the name Castlehill. The Earl of Fife (McDuff) and his wife and children were the residents of the castle. From some of the room windows you can see the Castles surrounding walls. Cupar was once famous for making sugar and had it's own railway taking sugar beats from the farm. The old stilo still stands on the site. We are situated next to The Corn Echange which used to be bustling with farmers selling their corn. Now it is used for weddings and other special functions. Brae Cottage is a Victorian house built in 1897 and has many of its original features. The rooms are large for a B'n'B and all have bathrooms.
I'm a retired manager of education and recent postmistress. My business partner was a builder but now a chef, driver, house maid and gardener. We are both Scottish and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. If your looking for an insight into how Scottish people live then this is the place for you.
Located in the heart of Cupar and yet a very quiet neighbourhood. Convenient for shops, local bars and restaurants. We are minutes from the train station that can take you to visit Dundee's new V& A museum or Pitlochry for one of the sets of Outlander. By car we are 10 miles from Falkland Palace another Outlander setting with the Lomond Hill for walkers. For golfers, well it's the home of golf. You will be spoiled for choice right here on your step. The local Cupar Library holds birth records if your looking for ancestors from the Kingdom of Fife. Cupar also has a heritage museum based in Cupar train station. Brae Cottage was built on the grounds of Cupar Castle you can still see some of the surrounding walls from some of the rooms. Hence the street name Castlehill.
