Lovley, warm, friendly couple that owned Buckle Yeat..I booked 3 nights...but added 3 more nights... Breakfast was amazing. My room was warm and cosy. The bed extremley comfortable. Bathroom very clean...10/10...

Kath United Kingdom

The guest house was lovely, a quaint 17th c house. Very friendly and helpful hosts Robert and Helen, and a fabulous breakfast menu. Nothing is too much trouble. Hopefully going back next year. Beatrix Potters house Hill Top literally on the doorstep. Fabulous scenery and Herdwick Sheep.

Christine United Kingdom

Robert and Helen were extremely welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and filling and there was something for everyone. The lounge area was very warm and welcoming and the wood fire really threw out the heat on a cold evening. The view from the bedroom was delightful and the room itself was very clean as was the en suite. The home made biscuits and large variety of teas and fresh milk was a refreshing change.

Maria United Kingdom

Breakfast was lovely and the large bathtub was relaxing. Very friendly and helpful hosts!

Akiko Japan

Breakfast was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. Nicer than you get in most places!

Mike United Kingdom

Very friendly and helpful hosts. The ability to walk along a public footpath through fields to the next village for dinner.

Maria Australia

Superb made to order breakfast; quiet and relaxing; close to Beatrix Potter House and other attractions in the Lakes District; facilities and bedding of good quality and comfortable; made to feel welcome; lounge area to relax in; close to nice restaurant.

Ian Australia

Lovely place with character, great hosts and excellent freshly prepared breakfasts. Perfect location to explore a beautiful part of the country. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Jonathan United Kingdom

Good breakfast, nice owners, great location and comfortable period property, modernised but retaining nice features, right next door to Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's house (National Trust).

John United Kingdom

Location is amazing; a small village in the Lake District. Host was so welcoming and friendly! Cottage was like something from a postcard. Room was lovely and breakfast was perfect! So lucky to have found this gem!

The breakfasts were yummy and filling for a day out hiking in the Lake District. Hosts are beyond compare. This was our second visit and hope for a third as it is truly the perfect place to stay in the Lake District. Comfy rooms where one is greeted with cookies. The area, though a short bus ride to a town with a grocery, is just stunning. One feels relaxed and free after just a short time. Next door to Hilltop, home of Beatrix Potter.

A little more storage space would have been nice but it's a historic old cottage... You need to modify expectations accordingly.

Lovely place with character, great hosts and excellent freshly prepared breakfasts. Perfect location to explore a beautiful part of the country. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
