A lovely seaside town. Lots of restaurants, bars cafes. If you like walking there are coastal paths to follow. Great for surfers. Attractive wharf which has a pub, cafes and a bistro called The Olive tree which does really good food. For a really good Sunday lunch The Preston Gate Inn is a must. They have a large family adventure centre with an outdoor adventure playground. There is also a castle which is free to visit it has a cafe with stunning sea views. There are a number of beaches to visit. Varied shops consisting of a mix of both independent traders and well known stores. A great place to stay and north Devon is not far away if you wish to explore.

There is a great beach Summerleaze, which is really near the hotel where you can go on in summer or winter and have a great walk along the coast, or a paddle. There were lots of surfers out there.
There are plenty of cafes/restaurants to visit even in autumn/winter
Bude is a great central place to stay and easily visit other attractions in Cornwall and Devon - Eden project, Tintagel Castle, Lost Gardens of Heligan - just be aware that the satnav tends to send you down all those very narrow 1 track roads!
Only regret was that we didn’t manage to fit in a cream tea

A few nice restaurants and a few decent pubs. Plenty of coffee shops and a few takeaways.Falcon hotel and Brendon Arms do good meals.Nice walk along canal side to the beach. Parking by canal and large car park by the beach. Castle by the beach too.

I've been travelling to Bude for the last 42yrs, always try to get there at least once a year. Love this part of the country and the only place I feel totally relaxed and peaceful. Great sandy beaches, the great Bude sea pool, good food to be found in many places.
The sea lock leading to the Bude canal offers great walks, leading to nature trails, including bird hides looking over the marshes.
Great surfing and also great links golf course.

Beautifully presented inside and out, flowers outside were beautifully maintained despite the ridiculously hot weather. The staff were very polite and helpful, breakfast was delicious and served quickly every morning. We only had dinner one night at the hotel bit also very high quality. Everything spotlessly clean, stylish and comfortable. We had our Daschund with us who was being a bit of a pain but we still felt very welcome. Really convenient location for visiting bude and the local beaches. Would absolutely recommend!
This is such a beautifully renovated property to stay at and exceptional quirky details in the fixtures and fittings. All appliances and furniture were high end and quality too, all well equipment to cook and prep food which made the stay nice. Great location with Bude just a couple of miles away and Widemouth Bay and the Beach House our fav restaurant just round the corner too and walking distance. Great to explore further into Cornwall too. The owners were so lovely and welcoming too, we will be back!
The Beach Hotel in Bude was fabulous just what we needed as a one night stop over in between cottage change over weeks. Brilliant location, very quiet, we had The Suite at the back so no sea view but lots of space and an outdoor terrace area, we were lucky enough to get a parking space directly outside the back of the property. Great bathroom, very spacious and delicious cooked breakfast. The staff service was very prompt and friendly too.
Was a little unsure when the host wrote that this was in his back garden, the entrance is via a rear alley but when you get in what a gem of a place. This is better than any hotel room. (Unless you want to sit in a hotel room and look at the beach). It's lovely and quite and only a few minutes walk to the nearest beach and 10 minds to the town and another beach. When we return this will definitely be the first place to try and stay.
The room is really modern and clean, hotel is very well situated, plenty of car park spaces, restaurant, sea and bars just around the corner. the only noise we heard in the morning were from the geese!
Our breakfast was ok, nice, but could be better if prepared on demand.
Really appreciated the little biscuit in our room and little departing gift.
We will definitely stay there again if we go back to Bude. Thank you
Lovely, family-run hotel. The people were so friendly, I felt welcome from the first moment. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, armchairs cozy and the view amazing. The breakfast menu is large and the food delicious. Also the location is good: Two minute walk to the cliffs with view over the Bude Sea Pool and the ocean and also about two minutes to the town center. Could really not recommend it more!
Our hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. The location was very convenient for touring the north Cornwall coast, and the B & B itself was very easily accessed from the A46. There was easy parking and the guest rooms had there own entrance at ground level. The decor was very attractive. The breakfast cooked to order was excellent.
- Staff were brilliant, very professional, helpful and friendly.
- We had room 102. It was a reasonable size with a decent shower and very clean.
- Continental breakfast was very good.
- Location is fab. Walking distance of the beach, town centre, etc.
- Free parking at front and back of hotel.
Great location, rooms were clean with tea/coffee etc, bed was very comfortable, proper double bed not two beds stuck together as some hotels. Fresh cooked breakfast and friendly staff. Would recommend and doubt we’d stay anywhere else in Bude now we’ve stayed here.
The room was spacious and absolutely spotless, the view was of the canal and was lovely, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. We really did enjoy our stay and would recommend the Falcon hotel for comfort and class.
The hotel’s in a great location, overlooking the beach. The rooms are lovely, as is everyone that works there. The breakfast is brilliant too, and there’s a bar if you want to enjoy evening drinks there. We’ll definitely be re-booking!
Dave and Joanne were extremely hospitable and showed us great care as their guests. We were well looked after and would highly recommend this as a place to stay when visiting the beautiful town of Bude.
The deco of the hotel was pleasant. Adequate outside seating areas with good views over the bay.
Evening meal was nice although a bit pricey and the waitresses were attentive.
A very comfortable place near Bude. The owner was very helpful. We very much appreciated receiving a boxed breakfast as we needed to leave relatively early in the morning.
Fantastic location if you plan to visit the North Cornwall
Good option If you are looking for a relaxing and calm location
The owners are very friendly and helpful
The view was amazing, the hotel was beautiful and the room was just stunning with a lovely view. Couldn't ask for more, would happily stay again and again
