Although situated in a somewhat downmarket area near the railway station, the location was convenient, within walking distance of the town centre. The staff were friendly & helpful and the breakfast was a real feast.

Gorgeously quirky 1920's themed cocktail bar/breakfast room with great decor - we had a superb breakfast (lots of lovely food options and delicious just-squeezed orange juice). The en suite room was lovely, well maintained and exceptionally clean and, although the window overlooked 2 large steel extractor vents on a roof, the rooftop was also nicely painted and there were plants, thoughtfully adorning it to make it attractive. The double glazing blocked most exterior sounds. Caboose it directly opposite the train track, literally 1 minute walk to the station and an easy 4 minutes stroll to the edge of the town centre.

The downstairs is beautifully decorated but my room was underwhelming. Nice furniture but bland. The shower was efficient but some details let the room down, eg bathroom flooring was like that in low level chain hotels, no tissues, hairdryer in a basket that I could only reach by standing on a chair. It was a bit noisy (but then it's on a main road so that's to be expected).

Awesome little place, great decor with really nice touches to the room. Really friendly and chatty staff, super helpful. I had a wonderful nights sleep in a comfy bed, then in the morning treated to one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. I will return!

The staff really made this visit for us - every member of staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but perfectly formed. They’ve been really thoughtful about how they utilise the floor plate and the rooms contains everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Loved it and would definitely recommend.

Property information

Caboose is a unique and stylish boutique hotel, with a 1920's themed bar downstairs, situated in the historic town of Salisbury. It is our aim to ensure you receive the best experience you can whilst you stay with us and we will always go that extra mile. We have 8 rooms, all different in size, bed and view so make sure you read each description to find the best fit for you. Caboose runs on a self check-in service Sunday to Wednesday. All information regarding this will be sent to you before your stay.

Neighbourhood information

We have a couple of recommendations of places to eat and drink during your stay. Deacons is a traditional British pub, a 1 minute walk from Caboose. Tinga, a vibrant and immersive Mexican restaurant and bar, is a short 10 minute walk from us. We recommend making a reservation if you wish to dine at Tinga, please ask at reception and we can help you with this. We are situated a short 5 minute walk from Salisbury Cathedral, a 7 minute drive from Old Sarum Castle and a 20 minute drive from the historic Stonehenge. We are also only a two minute walk away from Salisbury train station.
