I liked the central location of the Highland hotel and the activities for the children. The Winking Owl Aviemore is by far the best place to eat. It has such a huge choice of dishes at reasonable prices and great choices for celiacs and vegans. The staff at the Winking owl are lovely and there is a great atmosphere.

The town situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. There are beautiful views of all the mountains, forests and lakes. Not far from the legendary Loch Ness, it's hard to spot a monster. Amazing fogs.

It was very snowy when I arrived on Christmas day and the town was quiet. Its a pleasant place and a great stop off point to explore the area. It has plenty of cafes and restaurants, as well as shops to keep folk happy. But its real beauty is in the welcome and the access to the surrounding areas.

Aviemore is the ideal base from which to discover the Cairngorms. The town itself has everything you could possibly need to an active stay in the mountains as any time of year and some decent eateries.
The location was nice and quiet😀. There was a path nearby, which lead up to Boat of Garten, which I walked😀
Kaz was helpful when I had a bit of difficulty getting into the lock box😀
I had everything I needed and the co-op was just a 2 minute walk😀. There was a bus stop nearby, but I chose to walk into Aviemore, which I didn't mind doing😀
Plenty of shops and eating places. Public transport easy to access😀. Will book again cor summer so I can go exploring longer.
On our arrival we received a warm welcome. Our bedroom was very nicely furnished and the beds were very comfortable. The en suite bathroom and bedroom were exceptionally clean as was the rest of the hotl. Breakfast the following morning was freshly prepared , well presented and very tasty. Throughout our visit all staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is easy to find on the main road and is only a few minutes walk to Aviemore centre.
We were in the lodges this time and decor is very very tired. Big, clean lodge but just needs modernised (thread bare carpets isn’t appropriate for a £300 per night rate)!! Now been to Highlands & Aviemore hotels and still enjoy Aviemore as a location. Glad the swimming temperature is better in summer as very cold when we usually visit in January. Breakfast lovely and resort entertainment crew excellent, especially Rory!! What a hoot.
The breakfast was really excellent (you need to select your choices and time the day before) and the staff very friendly. The location is great for exploring the Cairngorms. It is a short drive away from of Aviemore town center, so you don't get the crowds and traffic, but close enough to pick up things you need. There is plenty of parking and a lake right near by. The restaurant serves a nice variety of dishes.
Lovely independent hotel in the middle of Aviemore. We booked an economy room which was small but ideal for one night. Ate at the restaurant which was a lovely meal - there was even a smaller portions option for the over 60s. Excellent breakfast with hot and cold options. Plenty of car parking, directly opposite the railway station and very close to the main shopping parade. We will use this hotel again.
Small Country Hotel, great staff with very friendly relaxed attitude. Food was excellent. Pleasant strolling in fields behind with your pets as dogs and cats welcome. Only a couple of miles from Aviemore where there are plenty of activities. Not to mention skiing!
Altogether a very pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone
The fifth time I've stayed here and it was as good as always. The lodges are well stocked with everything you'd need including shampoo and shower gel. It's an easy walk into Aviemore for food and supplies, and the restaurant attached does lovely takeaway food.
Great location for outdoor recreation. We hiked to Ben Macnui and Loch Avon one day. Hotel was just up road from restaurants and other retail. Very friendly staff and flexible with our requests, even as they were fully booked.
I was many, many times in Aviemore and always stay in hotels, and that was a mistake! Perfect place for holiday ! You can find even board games and lego for kids 😉
