Stunning setting within the precincts and right under the Cathedral. The instructions to find the entrance by car in rush hour were perfect. I wish I had followed them and not been put off by the bollards. Staff were charming, professional and extremely helpful. Breakfast was top rate with a choice of all manner of continental delights and a good selection of cooked meals including full English and alternatives such as Eggs Norwegian and Benedict. The bonus for this hotel is that after the precinct gates are shut and the visitors have gone home, you can come and go as you please, and explore the beautiful cathedral almost on your own.

We had 2 rooms adjacent to each other, and both were spotless! There was a lovely selection of teas/coffees and biscuits in the rooms, and at the end of the hall there was a machine with bottled sparkling and still water, free of charge. There is a garden where guests can sit and enjoy gorgeous views of the cathedral. It was extremely quiet in the evenings/nights, but just past the cathedral walls is Canterbury’s pedestrian zone, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops available in very easy walking distance. Breakfast was included in the price of the rooms and was plentiful and delicious; there was a menu from we could makes our choices, and then it was individually prepared for us. Don’t forget to visit the cathedral free of charge with your stay!

  • Do you have rooms with walk in showers (rather than a shower over a bath)? My elderly mum and I would like to share a twin room, but she can't get in a bath, even if just to stand up to take a shower. Thank you, Julia

    Dear Guest, Our Twin bedrooms have a shower with a small step up into it. We could place a non slip matt in there if you require. Our accessible bedrooms with walk in Showers and grab rails are only have Double beds.

  • Is there ability to have bikes within the room? we are on a cycle tour.

    Dear Guests, There is no room within the bedroom however we do have a small area under a stair case half way around the building that is often used to store a small number of bikes indoors.

    We have limited on-site parking, only 12 spaces are available - this is charged at £6.00 per vehicle per day. Alternatively we offer 24 hour public parking vouchers for the local car parks around the city which are also charged at £6.00
