We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting Ted and Sandra. There are a lot of stairs, but this is very clear on the description, so we knew what we were getting ourselves into! However, it did have the advantage of a lovely view of the Abbey from the window whilst having a drink in the room! The breakfast was brilliant and we had a great time chatting to Ted and Sandra and watching the goings on outside. All in all, a fantastic stay, which I would love to repeat.
United KingdomOur room was wonderful! It was at the top of a beautiful home, high on the hill overlooking the harbor. Two minutes' walk from the station (and the Station Inn, a fantastic pub, and Trenchers, best fish and chips we've ever had). The very best part of our stay were our hosts, Ted and Sandra, the loveliest people we met on our honeymoon. They were generous with their time and advice, and their delicious breakfasts sustained us through long days of sightseeing. We'll never forget our time at Captains Cabin. Thanks so much, Ted and Sandra!

United KingdomTed and Sandra are excellent hosts and great company. You will feel welcomed and looked after during your stay. You place your own order for breakfast, which has a varied choice. The breakfast was excellent. The location is superb and provides one of the best views of Whitby that you are likely to see. There is free parking right opposite the accommodation, which is ideally situated close to the centre of Whitby and all amenities. I have no hesitation in recommending this as a place to stay when you are in Whitby, I will definitely return. Picture is of Milly the dog outside the front door. I took her out for a couple of walks.

Room had exceptional views of harbour and Abbey and catered for every need, was clean and quirky(watch your head on the beams)Breakfast was excellent with good selection of foods and catered for all needs. Located in a Victorian house overlooking Whitby’s upper harbor and the River Esk, Captains Cabin features accommodations with free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. It is on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.
