It is a perfect location for anyone who loves the outdoors, amazing coastal walks, views and beaches. It has such a friendly vibe from awesome local pub, shop and restaurant in SF itself to the beach and cafe/restaurant at Blackpool Sands where wild swimming (it seems) is a must with a barrel style sauna available on the beach, which was in use during our stay from 22-24 Dec. For couples, families and dog lovers Stoke Fleming and surrounding area is as good as it gets.

Stoke Fleming is a charming small village with a post office and other shops. Blackpool Sands is the nearest beach, but we didn't think it walkable from the hotel unless you were quite fit. You would need a car to visit larger towns for more leisure facilities.

    It was an excellent experience.

It was an excellent experience. Needed a rest and it was ideal. The staff were very friendly and a family run hotel makes a nice change . Pool good as was the food and bar. Would have liked a bit of fruit at breakfast as a change from melon but that is a minor gripe. Fish excellent as expected in that part of the world. All in all, a most enjoyable stay to be fully recommended. Best way in to Dartmouth is park and ride - car parks get very full in town. Just don't try to eat out in Dartmouth on a Sunday evening- no chance.

Lovely quiet village.. Great well stocked shop/post office.

Lovely quiet village.. Great well stocked shop/post office. Radius 7 restaurant very good. A great pub , the Green Dragon, excellent food and beers, very friendly, although advised to book as it gets busy and also still adhering to Covid regulations.. Useful bus service during the day, although not very frequent but ran spot on time.. A nice stroll down to the beach at Blackpool sands, but be aware if you have kids, you do have to cross a quite busy road and could be a bit of a hike on the way back with kids and kit etc.. Worth the hike though, lovely cafe down there. Maybe not particularly very suitable for kids unless you're happy to load the car up everywhere you want to go. Really handy for Dartmouth which is fab and in the other direction, a lovely drive to Torcross, again worth a visit.

Stoke Fleming is a small village just outside Dartmouth.

Stoke Fleming is a small village just outside Dartmouth. We stayed four nights mostly as a base for other places, but had one evening stroll through the village. Locals seemed happy and friendly. The church looked interesting, but we couldn't get in (evening visit). The streets are quite narrow, so you need to be aware of vehicles.

We were greeted initially by the friendly receptionist and overall the whole of our 3 night stay was relaxing with a great menu choice with fabulous food and the staff also were exceptional. The hotel was most welcoming and clean. We would definately recommend this to others as well as return to visit. The outdoor pool was nice for a pre-breakfast swim. Which was also heated along with a good size indoor ool. There is a great coastal path walk to Dartmouth which is full of cafes pubs.etc. a good day out with a castle also to visit. Naybe catching the little ferry into Dartmouth itself. Blackpool Sands. A blue flag beach with great amenities also a good pace to visit and about a 20 minute walk from the hotel.
