Beautiful landscape, amazing locals and the city has everything one might need: food, postal office, drinks, a variety of accommodations, lovely port and the travel from Wemyss Bay with the boat was magical.

A beautiful peaceful quiet island with so many scenic bays with the most amazing views . Lots of little cafes with reasonably priced food and pleasant staff . Very good bus service with friendly helpful drivers. Mount Stuart is one of the finest pieces of gothic architecture anywhere and the gardens are a joy to behold not too mention the magnificent castle

I was born on Bute, my trip was to visit relatives & show my husband more of my birthplace.
Bute is truly 'Bute'iful, the scenery is stunning, locals are really friendly & we weren't disappointed by the little cafes we visited, fish n chips from the Kettledrum, some of the best we've had.
Shame the Castle wasn't open, but everything else was as I remembered it, lovely to see the fountain working.

Rothesay was the choice of holiday-makers from central...
Rothesay was the choice of holiday-makers from central Scotland up to the middle of 20th century when the Med became viable and its much better weather led to Rothesay's rapid decline. In the past few decades it has successfully re-gained a new market for shorter-stay holiday-makers, especially out-of-season with a re-furbished sea-front and generally improved facilities. It is also home to a lively community of both 'natives' to the area as well as people whom decide to retire there. Fascinating and gloriously attractive architecture from the late 19th century adorns the villas. Town centre still shows some decay from its hayday but it is generally attractive. Mountstuart House is nearby and Scalpsie and Ettrick Bay are very attractive beaches ideally suited to families. A great place for everyone.
Room was very comfortable and supplied with tea/coffee and biscuits, slippers are also supplied,we had booked the room with the balcony but it is in fact a large private terrace with plenty seats and a table with amazing views, the ferry terminal is 2 minutes walk away as is the town centre, the owners David and Amy are lovely and the freshly cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious using fresh local produce, highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.
The view of the house and the room stood out. On top of a hill in the heart of the town of Rothesay in a traditional gorgeous big house is a thrill.
The shower was excellent in a bathroom with a variety of marble, the size of your room. In between was a kind of pantry for coffee and tea, with a microwave.
Staff was very friendly and willing to help you out for finding a place to have dinner. Parking on top of the hill next to the house is very useful.
Everything. The location was perfect, right across from the water, and within walking distance to Rothesay. The house itself is roomy and has everything you could want. The grounds are spacious and Carolynn and John encourage you to play on the front lawn with the various garden games they provide in the shed next to the house. They are very kind and provide little touches such as milk and biscuits, shampoo and conditioner and even disposable barbecues.
We stay on Bute often visiting family and have stayed at a number of flats and hotels we found this property one of the best we have stayed in. The bathroom had recently been upgraded including a new shower which was very good. The kitchen was well equipped with a washer, oven & dishwasher (which we never used but did appreciate) The apartment was lovely and warm with views that are breathtaking!
The location was good - a 10 minute walk into the centre of Rothesay. Everything was very well organised regarding covid arrangements. Breakfast was very tasty and appeared very promptly. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a lovely view overlooking the bay. Good tea & coffee making facilities available in the bedrooms and also in the dining room during the day.
Hotel benefits from having a front terrace overlooking the bay and passing ferries. Central location, easy level and scenic walk to town centre. Delicious breakfasts, good choice, variations no problem, served promptly. Hosts David and Amy always cheerful, friendly and helpful. Hospitality tray in room replenished daily.
The owner at Cadillac Customz is a person you HAVE to meet when visiting Rothesay, and the hotel is an unmissable spot. We had filming crew staying at the hotel, whilst we were shooting on the island and they had the best time chatting to the owner and snoozing at this unique spot.
Terrific hotel and hosts, really accommodating. We went with our 2-year old and made to feel very welcome - a very cosy family feel. Also ideal location for exploring and for getting into Rothesay for dinner. Will definitely be going back when next on Bute. Thank you!
Lovely spacious apartment, centrally located in Rothesay. Loved watching the ferries coming and going and popping down to the coop for supplies. The apartment was tastefully decorated and the kitchen well equipped.
A lovely hotel, kristine the owner was very welcoming and helpful.
My room was just what I needed, it was absolutely amazing. A lovely shower & bathroom/comfy bed.
The breakfast was extremely tasty also.
I liked everything about the hotel. The waterfront view from our room was lovely. The staff were very helpful. The breakfasts were more than adequate in addition to being delicious.
The staff were by far the best part but we also loved the charming aesthetic, great food from the restaurant, amazing sea views, and location close to downtown Rothesay!
Not all rooms have a sea view, but those that do have a fantastic view over Rothesay bay. Room was clean and tidy. Five minute walk from the ferry terminal.
Wonderful location on the coast with fantastic views across Rothesay Bay.
Breakfast very good with excellent porridge and a proper full cooked breakfast
