Excellent location - close to stations, sites (we walked from Tower Bridge all the way to London Eye; the Tate Modern is less than a 5-minute walk), restaurants, coffee shops, groceries/markets/mini-marts (M&S is across the street), Borough and Maltby Street Markets... Also, we definitely felt that the area was safe and not overcrowded. The hotel has well-thought-out rooms - they are all the same with super large comfy beds and everything is controlled by an iPad (TV, lights, "alarm call", blinds, curtains). Just don't expect to fit 2 large suitcases in the room. We connected to wifi easily. BONUS - friendly staff and very late night bar (it's a proper bar w/ nice cocktails/selection) and food in a cool lobby area. Really exceeded our expectations.
