This place was one of the best accommodations while traveling the UK. The room was quite spacious and clean. New towels were provided every day and well washed!! Lastly, the host was really really hospitable!!! We planned to stay one night, but the condition in her house made us to stay one more day. Willing to stay there again once we go to Dover.

We had English breakfast everyday which was ample and excellent for the additional charge. Our host Stella was very friendly as well as helpful to the guests. The location was also good - it required about a 10 - 15 minute walk to reach the town centre, but we had a car which made it quicker to get there if desired. We were also able to park overnight on the driveway in front of the house which was very convenient.

3 flights of narrow stairs to the room, the beds were uncomfortable. It was clean and the staff lovely. The breakfast was very good also. Very helpful staff. The beds let it down, cheap and uncomfortable, change the beds and mattress and you would be 10/10

The Clare House is a highly recommended Victorian guesthouse, centrally located near ports and historical attractions.

We have been awarded a 3-Diamond rating by the AA and Tourist Board.

Enjoy the hospitality that awaits you at Clare House; it is ideal for a stopover on the way to the European continent or if you are exploring Kent county. The hotel is a 5 minute drive to ports/cruise terminals and a 5 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is located a short 10 minute drive to the Channel Tunnel. English breakfast is served starting at 7am.

  • 'Total cost to cancel'? Does this effectively mean non refundable or total cost is repayable if you cancel? How does this work is it is payment at the hotel? Sorry to ask what may seem to you like a silly question but it seems ambiguous to me! Many thanks

    Latest check in is up to 10pm , Clare house does not offer parking , however there is lots of street parking near us .

    Luggage drop off is not a problem at 11am and luggage storage is ok for collection anytime after 4 pm , hope this may be of some help clare house
