I like Macclesfield because it is a pretty town with good links to Manchester if you need the big city, the Peak District if you like walking, and Buxton if you want a bit of culture. The town is of a manageable size with pretty parks, and it has various small events going on in the local pubs, plus each month there is the Treacle Market, which is a popular feature of Macclesfield.

I came for the silk museum and the Paradise Mill which I can recommend both. The Treacle Market on the last Sunday of the month was a good experience. The weather was sunny, but often was a chill strong wind, I missed a hat. It takes only 30 minutes to travel by train to Manchester, and about 2 hours to London. There are good restaurants and pubs! There are many places to take a nice walk in the nature of the surrounding area, but unfortunately I had to postpone them.

A nice small town centre, a good choice of eateries & cafes, A couple of good ladies boutiques along with a lovely shop Rocco selling stylish boots & trainers. The Tytherington hotel is well worth a stay as they have a good Spa & pool. Another small hotel nearby is BoHotel & eatery, lovely. Free car parking available for the town centre too.

We enjoyed our stay in Macclesfield and it was a good centre for exploring the surrounding area. The town has a silk museum and various other interesting buildings. We can highly recommend the Chinese restaurant, Jin.

I went to Macclesfield for business , not leisure.

I went to Macclesfield for business , not leisure. It is a small town where shops and restaurants generally close quite early. I did not have anytime to do any sightseeing in the town or outside - so I cannot really comment about the place from a leisure point of view.

I wasn't a tourist oin this trip but visiting friends in an area I used to live in. I ate at The Chilli Banana, a large Thai restaurant and had an enjoyable meal. Also used the Coffee Shop at Arighi Bianci both for coffee stop over and lunch and it's a good location - not only do you get to see the cream of household furnishings spread over mutliple floors, but this excellent cafe.

I booked one night at The Bridge as I was working in the local area and could not have had a better experience! A beautiful hotel in a characterful little village, the room was spotless and had everything to hand that I could have needed. The staff were friendly and helpful at every stage of my stay and the breakfast was the best I have had at a hotel in my 15 years of travelling for work. The car park was more than ample and I could not have enjoyed my stay more. At £65 for the night, The Bridge massively over delivered!

Wow. Where do I start? The room was absolutely stunning 🤩. Lovely Victorian features. 2 massive fireplaces. Amazing bath tub. Massive bed which was so comfortable. The room was exquisite and decorated impeccably. Well worth a visit for a bit of luxury. Our short stay Couldn’t have been any nicer. Amazing communication from Laura about our stay. The breakfast at the cafe downstairs was beautiful. Right in the centre with lots of night life and things to do. Will definitely want to come here again. Thank you so much❤️

Lovely cosy cottage. The owners had left coffee, tea, milk, sugar, biscuits and tea cakes which was a really nice touch. The views from the back of property is lovely. The cottage was immaculately clean and smelt amazing. Bed was really comfortable and pillows were perfect for me. My favourite thing was the log burner. Just a lovely chilled weekend. We went to a concert in Manchester the first night and it was very expensive to stay in Manchester, so we stayed in Macclesfield and I'm glad we did. A little gem

Decor and atmosphere throughout communal areas is stylish, luxurious and unique, location and surroundings area beautiful, vegetarian food is one of few examples of a hotel that actually puts effort into their vegetarian options, staff are down to Earth and super friendly, room decor / comfort is classic and comfortable. Restaurant had a lovely Alcoceres and lots of l charming spaces around the hotel to sit and relax

The hotel needs a good clean and total redecoration. The rooms are barely adequate for the price. The toilet didn’t flush properly, cold water tap didn’t work, tv didn’t work, bed uncomfortable, no air conditioning so room was hot, and no sound proofing so could hear all our neighbours. All you want is a comfy bed and good bathroom (and nice breakfast is paid for). The hotel just did not deliver

The rooms were spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped. It was so nice to arrive to a small container of milk, cookies, coffee and tea. The apartment's location was excellent, very close to the centre of town and lots of shops and restaurants.
