It was a little confusing about entering the gate at the end of the drive because you feel like you're going into someone's garden. It'd be helpful if there was a little sign on the gate just saying yes, this is the right place. Come in and park up. No need to announce yourselves 😁

United KingdomWe checked in out of hours and we got sent the instructions and was just left to it. Very comfortable beds, nice welcome package and tea coffee sugar milk all available. Able to control the heating ourselves, which was great as we were all cold when we arrived. Great place to stay 😁

United KingdomVery comfortable and well equipped for our needs. Compact but well planned. Lovely spot with outside sitting area where we had breakfast. We have usually stayed in hotels when visiting York, but this was a great alternative, much more relaxing, with easy parking. We were visiting family so didn’t try it, but apparently on bus route for York centre.

It is on the road from Strensall to York (and would be quite a long walk to local amenities in Haxby or Strensall, but is on a bus route) The room was spacious and well appointed. We enjoy having a bath. We used the kitchen facilities for tea and toast.
United KingdomStayed New Years Eve. Customer service/contact prior and during the stay was excellent. Sadly, due to moving into tier 3 the day of our stay it meant we was very limited with options of how to spend our time. Apart from going for a walk there wasn’t much for us to do as in experiencing the local area as restrictions meant we could not dine/drink out. There was a small issue with running the bath in the room as the water wouldn’t get hot; wasn’t a major issue but it would have been nice to use this facility but certainly did not put us off staying here again. Would highly recommend. Lovely little set up.

We are a family business that is fast becoming a well established Holiday let business in York managing over 60 properties in all different areas. We live here on site at the converted stables. Its a very quiet location with easy access to the town centre and local village pubs , has lovely views and plenty of space. We love to travel and have visited many places so we know exactly what you expect and would like when visiting cities away from home, this has given us the experience and opportunity to make sure all our properties are to the best standard and are like a home from home!
Property info
Converted stables are 2 beautifully decorated and modern studio apartment,s based in a lovely quiet area just outside of York City centre. These lovely apartments have the convenience of being located in a quiet, freindly village while still having a direct bus route in York city centre , the bus stop is located within a mintues walk at the end of the drive way. This cozy apartment has an extremly comfortable King Size bed, it also has a single bed, sleeping 3-4 guests, all beds are of an excellent hotel quality. In the rooms you will find a lovely little kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge. There is an ensuite with a walk in shower in the apartments. There is also a luxury Roll top bath in the centre of one of our room at the end of the King Size bed. The other has a lovely log burner as the main focus point of the room, located opposite the sofa. Perfect for the winter nights! Both rooms provide luxury features to relax and enjoy after a long day exploring in York! The property offers lots of parking right outside of the apartment on a large gravel drive, it also has a lovely large garden space to enjoy in the summer months.
Neighborhood info
A satellite village to the north of York, Strensall / earswick offers excellent commuter links and bus links into the historic city centre. This friendly village has good amenities including pubs, shops, a hairdressers, a bakery and a fish and chip shop, and there is also a village park and a superb golf course, with other alternatives close by. Just outside the village, the Strensall Common Nature Reserve is a conservation area with heathland and a wonderful array of wildlife, including birds, common lizards and adders. The surrounding countryside offers good walking and cycling opportunities, with picturesque cycle routes leading along the riverside path into the very heart of York. Hop in the car and venture into the North York Moors National Park to explore Dalby Forest, a beautiful setting for a family day out woven with walking and bike trails and a Go Ape centre! An easy drive away
