My home is a well appointed, very comfortable semi-detached house which is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful county of Cornwall. I leave my recommendations for places to go and the best places to eat and shop. Do not hesitate to message for more information. Apart from the airing cupboard on the upstairs landing (where I keep my clothes and bedding) the whole house is yours. There are basic foods (salt, pepper, oil, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, butter, bread, home-made marmalade and jam, cereals and tinned goods). Let me know if you would like me to supply Cornish sausages, bacon and eggs so you can make your first cooked breakfast. The house is well equipped, it is easy to look after, and, from the luxurious beds to the wood burner in the lounge to the Nespresso machine and the Velvetiser in the kitchen, everything is at hand to give my guests an enjoyable and memorable stay. While a lot of visitors to Cornwall come in the summer to enjoy the fabulous beaches and unspoilt countryside, why not consider a visit in winter? Traffic is lighter, parking is easier and, while swimming may be less appealing, a trip to a dramatic cove after an Atlantic storm has whipped up spindrift and towering waves really blows the cobwebs away. Then the rest of the day can be spent curled up in front of the wood burner. There are books, DVDs and smart televisions in both the lounge and the main bedroom. Please note: I am currently not accepting bookings for less than one week. If you decide to leave early for any reason, you may not be able to receive a refund for the unused time. This is because it is not possible to find a new guest for the days your early departure has made available. Depending on the reason for your early departure, you may be able to claim on your travel insurance.
I am a retired healthcare professional. This property is my home. I let it out to guests when I am away because Cornwall is a beautiful and very popular holiday destination, and it is a privilege to be able to make it possible for my guests to have a comfortable and affordable break.
My house, built in 2013, is located in a quiet housing estate. This is situated on the outskirts of the city of Truro, near the Royal Cornwall Hospital, and a mile and a half from Truro railway station. There is a lot of green space around the estate, good for kicking a ball around, stretching your legs, or just filling your lungs with clean country air. Truro is a pleasant city, easy to explore on foot. There is a small and interesting museum, and the cathedral is well worth a visit. There is a lively market on Lemon Quay every Wednesday and Saturday, and plenty of places to sit and have a coffee and pastry, pasties, a cream tea (remember, jam first!) , or a meal. It is possible to walk into the city from my house along quiet paths. There is a bus stop ten minutes’ walk from the house, and a frequent bus service into Truro, as well as to destinations across the county. Driving into Truro takes minutes, but parking is not always easy. If you do want to drive, I’d advise an early start. My house is perfectly located for a quick getaway to the coast. Go north to St Agnes Head, Trevaunance Cove, or Perranporth, south to Falmouth or the Roseland or west to Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole. The central location of my house means that you have easy access to every part of the beautiful county of Cornwall. I am always happy to recommend destinations, activities, places to eat and shop. Because Cornwall is a popular destination, consider some advance planning and booking - especially restaurants.
