"The County"
3-5 High Street, Market Square, Selkirk, TD7 4BZ, United Kingdom – Great location - show map
Fascinating stay in an historic, listed building. Family owned and staffed ... and it showed. Nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous food well cooked and presented. We were so glad we booked!

I was travelling with a group of friends on a walking holiday. The food and service and room were exceptional; everything cooked to order. Good selection from the bar, although no draught beers on offer. The local Twisted Thistle IPA is not to be missed!

The food served at the County Hotel was fabulous. Both brekfast and the evening meals were cooked expertly and were more than we expected. The staff were amazing and looked after us perfectly well. They were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

I travel frequently and stay in a huge assortment of properties. While this hotel is still (quite rightly) exercising an abundance of caution regarding COVID-19 precautions it is not open to then general public and therefore the front desk isn't available other than for check-in/check out, so the place does tend to look closed at first sight. However, the interior, the welcome, the unpretentious hearty food and the service from the staff couldn't be better.

Nice room with good bathroom en suite. Bed very comfortable. Staff super friendly and helpful (but not intrusive or over bearing). Breakfast promptly cooked to order and delicious. Highly recommended!

Location was great and in perfect walking distance for restaurants and food outlets. Number One being literally next door is amazing - go try it!

The breakfast was basic, that did contain a cooked vegetarian option. The staff were very friendly. The formerly historic hotel was positioned centrally for all local amenities. The room was comfortable, well furnished and the ensuite bathroom, compact with a walk in shower. There was parking available on site. The hotel offers bed and breakfast only. All rooms are upstairs. There are plenty of places to eat within the town of Selkirk nearby.

Great location. Good parking. Very friendly staff. Access to comfortable lounge to enjoy takeaway.

very good experience with friendly staff and very comfortable room. They were not providing meals at the time but had set aside a lounge where you were invited to bring a take-away if you wanted to, provided with cutlery etc. which was very helpful indeed and thoughtful of the staff

Location, friendly staff, good shower, comfortable ,breakfast superb
