we loved this place, great room,great staff and great food. we enjoyed the walk into whitby(1.6 miles) but the park and ride bus is right outside so that's a good option if you don't want to walk in to town.

We have booked to come again and are staying in the lodge for longer, and bringing our daughter along too. Staff are brilliant. Welcome to The Stables at Cross Butts, where town really meets country! We're a local family who've been running our business together for 15 years, and we strive to make every guest who walks through our doors feel like they're one of the family too.
Property info
Here at The Stables, we really feel we have a unique and special place on our hands! Our rooms and restaurant have a relaxed, rustic feel to them whilst providing every high-standard comfort for the modern traveller. The former farmhouse, complete with converted stables and barns, reminds you that you're in the middle of the stunning Yorkshire countryside. Settle in by the open fireside in winter, or in the summer months make best use of our wonderful beer garden.

We are lucky enough to be located just a 5-minute drive from the heart of the historic harbour town of Whitby. Enjoy stunning sea views from the West Cliff, climb the many steps up to the breathtakingly beautiful and spooky ruins of Whitby Abbey, take a long walk on the sandy beach, or simply wander round the winding, cobbled streets of this unique and characterful place.
