Based down a quiet country lane with views across farm land to the sea the Dairy Barns is a purpose designed red brick barn conversation located on our family farm with a selection of 6 lovely rooms and 3 extra special rooms with a stunning main breakfast barn and coastal themed lounge. Outdoor space includes a large garden, sunny court yard and walks on our farm. Take a closer look….it is nothing like an old fashioned B&B, its completely self contained and you are welcome to come and go as you please during your stay. We welcome exclusive group stays and are very happy to discuss any specific requirements you may have Our 6 rooms, all on the ground floor – Dahlia, Norfolk Lavender, Red Poppy, Sunrise, Seaside and Kingfisher – each beautifully colour-themed. They are very comfortable, spacious, well-equipped, and all come with those important little finishing touches such as toiletries, delicious chocolates on your pillow, a variety of magazines, delightful fresh flowers and of course television and hot drinks tray. They all en-suite with shower cubicle and luxury towels and have wonderfully comfy twin or super king size beds with crisp linen and cosy, pretty duvets. We often host large family groups and several of our rooms can also accommodate children. We welcome guests with limited mobility and are very happy to discuss our facilities with you Take a look at our Extra Special Rooms for that extra hint of luxury and additional space – perfect for that special occasion or if you just want to treat yourselves! Each is completely self-contained with a lounge a... Breakfast is a real treat with Full English, Homemade Waffles and Fresh Fruit served in our amazing main barn or you can also enjoy breakfast in bed at no extra charge. We can happily for Vegans, Gluten Free and various differing breakfast requirements.
We love welcoming people to our farm and have been doing so for nearly 20 years. Hannah and Ian along with their amazing team of staff pride themselves in offering a warm and friendly welcome to all our guests, we want all our guests to feel that they can relax and really feel at home with us. Along with clean and comfortable rooms we enjoy helping you make the most of your stay offering suggestions on places to visit and the best pubs and restaurants to eat at, we want you to explore all the best places so you want to come back again and explore some more. You are welcome to walk on the farm where there is wildlife in abundance and simply enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle of real life. We have horses on the farm all year and in the summer there are beef cattle and sometimes sheep on the meadows. Not forgetting the seal colony on the local beach at Horsey with thousands of seals in the Winter months. This a a recent review which I feel really sums up what we offer; "It's not often I give 5 stars...🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 When you book something online you never quite know what you're getting but what a gem we found in Dairy Barns. Lovely knowledgeable hosts, clean comfy rooms, great breakfasts, and magnificently located for access to the coast and the Broads. Once we'd sampled most of the local eateries, they were quite happy for us to bring in a take-away one evening, an unusual and welcome touch. The lovely friendly atmosphere permeated the building and the other guests - no sitting in silence over breakfast as in other places. We'll be back.."
We can promise you a very warm and friendly welcome at Dairy Barns Bed and Breakfast which is beautifully situated between the picturesque village of Hickling nestled between the glorious waterways of the Norfolk Broads and the stunning Norfolk coastline at Sea Palling and Waxham. Dairy Barns form part of Lound Farm, a working family farm covering 360 acres of grazing marshes and arable land, we are the perfect spot to escape the world and relax in the countryside, we love helping guests plan there stay with us and below are just a few suggestions; If you are with us for a 1 night stay head to the Beach at Sea Palling and Waxham in the Summer and Horsey Gap with the Seals in the winter. You can see the sand dunes from the farm and we welcome many coastal path walkers each year. East Ruston Vicarage Gardens is a real treat and if there isn't time to jump on a boat then head to the Barton Board Walk for an amazing view across Barton Broad If you are staying a few more nights take a day boat on the river or hire a 1/2 decker and learn to sail, if being a passenger is more your thing there are lots of organised trips. I absolutely love Blickling Hall (NT) it has everything fabulous house, gardens and park land and the biggest second hand book shop I've ever seen. The Buckinghamshire Arms next door is great for lunch. If cycling is your thing we offer secure storage and are on a national cycle route, Norfolk isn't known for it's hills so you don't have to be super fit. Wildlife and Wildlife photography draws many people to us with Hickling Wildlife Trust and How Hill close by. Depending on the time of year it's not unusual to see Cranes, Swallowtail Butterflies, Hare, Deer, Seals and Marsh Harriers all nearby. Bring the family and head to Bewilderwood, Wroxham Barns and explore the deep history coast, along with free days out on the beach, Sea Palling has a great fish and chips and traditional seaside donuts!
